A full tasting is $45 but they will let you sample wines in the tasting room for just a tip (yes, please tip). We tried a few. They are muvashal, which is good as the wine tasting staff is clearly not Jewish. Muvashal wines will never be the best ones, but their wines are solid.

The grounds are pretty and they have chickens who are cute. As the only kosher winery in Napa, they kinda have the corner on the market. Still, they are better than the typical kosher wine from your grocery store.

I have been a member of Hagafen for a few years now, because upon my first visit I was thrilled by the wide variety of both whites and reds, as well as sweet and not-as-sweet. I live close enough to Napa to know that not all wineries can provide such a wide assortment of varietals to please any visitor's experience. With the small, cozy experience you get a chance to truly interact with everyone. Marissa and Kit have been amazing concierges on multiple occasions, I've met Ernie, the owner, as well as the winery dog and at one time the winery cat.

Hagafen is a must-stop on Silverado Trail (or even if you're stuck on Highway 29), just make an appointment before you show up, sit back and relax (ask if you can bring a few snacks while you are visiting) and enjoy a wide selection of whites, reds, and even bubbles. Who knows, you may end up a member like I did!

This is the second time we have visited the winery. I love sweet Reislings and they are scarce in Napa. Hagafen has them. My husband and I had our own tasting in a lovely courtyard. All the tastings are now being held outdoors. When I told our person that I came back especially for the Reislings she tailored my tastings to them while my husband had his reds. We got to meet and talk with Ernie, the owner and head winemaker, or as he is known as Don Ernesto. I even joined their wine club because we saved money on the shipping. It's an added bonus that it's kosher. I can never find kosher Reislings where I live in Ohio.

This was my second visit to this winery. The tasting room is small and informal, but the people are really pleasant. The wines are great and while not cheap, are good value compared to many of their neighbors in Napa. The wine happens to be kosher, but it is not what you think about when you think stereotype kosher wines, the wines are just great Napa wines. Its better to have a reservation and the tasting fee can be credited back toward your purchase. I will probably stop there every time I go to Napa.

Actually, I can’t say anything about the wines, which I am sure are great for Kosher wines lovers. We didn’t do the tasting as we have already booked two other tastings on the day of our visit plus Hagafen didn’t have availability.

Having said that, I would like to mention that Hagafen wines had been served at the White House dinners with Israeli prime ministers and other officials during Bill Clinton’s presidency. It was very interesting for us to see the documents related to these events.

The winery is pretty and has a cozy feel to it. A must visit for those who are interested in good Kosher wines.

I liked all the wines we tasted, it was a great variety. Our server was also very personable and kind. They had a good deal for purchasing as well (buy a few bottles and they'll waive the tasting fees.)

This was my favorite winery of our visit because of the beautiful grounds, comfortable cabana seating, and laid-back atmosphere. We had just come from a different (snooty, rushed) winery beforehand, and Hagafen was the polar opposite. We felt very welcome and that we could stay as long as we liked.

Our group of 6 spent a most special wine tasting / picnic lunch / informal tour of the Hagafen Winery . Perfect from start to finish . Our host Vincent went out of his way to make us feel ‘at home’ . The wine was superb , the views were magnificent … a delight to all the senses . To top it off Ernie the owner / founder was super gracious and taught us so much . Especially recommend this as a MUST for any kosher traveler .. even if not serious wine drinkers . Amazing … just amazing ! ( oh , & and Marisa who took our reservation is the best & helped plan our itinerary for the day . )

Happy Father’s Day to me. It was a beautiful summer afternoon and we sat outside in the garden for our wine tastings. The staff was great and were very attentive. You had a choice of three tastings that varied in price from $35 to $45. The fee was waived if you bought $50 dollars worth of wine; which isn’t hard to do. I have been coming to this winery for 10 years and never been disappointed.

We had the perfect afternoon at Hagafen Cellars. We were seated at a lovely bench in the very front of the outdoor tasting area. It was a peaceful, intimate setting and presented gorgeous views. It was not crowded at all. We were able to take our time, have all of our questions answered, and our tasting was customized based on our interests. (We only wished we brought some cheese and crackers since they allow you to bring food.) We ended up staying for 3 hours! We had a wonderful experience.

If you have never before traveled up to the Napa valley it is well worth the journey to see the vineyards and the beauty of the area. The Hagafen winery is definitely worth a visit, whether you appreciate fine vintages or are simply someone who is curious as to how grape juice is transformed into something delightful and amazing. Hagafen conducts a free tour. We were fortunate enough to have Marissa as our guide. Although due to the weather, we were the only two people on the tour, she could not have been more enthusiastic and delighted to show us a place that she clearly loves. From the grape plantings to the warehouse of oak casks, Marissa took us through every step of the process from grapevine to bottle. We ate our packed lunch on their terrace and would have purchased more than one bottle after tasting. It was hard to choose. Fortunately for those of us who have to travel with limited luggage space, they ship just about everywhere. We will be enjoying our bottle this evening with friends. Lechayim for a lovely memory that we will taste again every time we sample a bottle of Hagafen wine.
