Happy Father’s Day to me. It was a beautiful summer afternoon and we sat outside in the garden for our wine tastings. The staff was great and were very attentive. You had a choice of three tastings that varied in price from $35 to $45. The fee was waived if you bought $50 dollars worth of wine; which isn’t hard to do. I have been coming to this winery for 10 years and never been disappointed.

Vince was great - the wines we tried were all above average, and we liked their organic/vegan production style. Thanks for a great visit.

This was my second visit to this winery. The tasting room is small and informal, but the people are really pleasant. The wines are great and while not cheap, are good value compared to many of their neighbors in Napa. The wine happens to be kosher, but it is not what you think about when you think stereotype kosher wines, the wines are just great Napa wines. Its better to have a reservation and the tasting fee can be credited back toward your purchase. I will probably stop there every time I go to Napa.

If you have never before traveled up to the Napa valley it is well worth the journey to see the vineyards and the beauty of the area. The Hagafen winery is definitely worth a visit, whether you appreciate fine vintages or are simply someone who is curious as to how grape juice is transformed into something delightful and amazing. Hagafen conducts a free tour. We were fortunate enough to have Marissa as our guide. Although due to the weather, we were the only two people on the tour, she could not have been more enthusiastic and delighted to show us a place that she clearly loves. From the grape plantings to the warehouse of oak casks, Marissa took us through every step of the process from grapevine to bottle. We ate our packed lunch on their terrace and would have purchased more than one bottle after tasting. It was hard to choose. Fortunately for those of us who have to travel with limited luggage space, they ship just about everywhere. We will be enjoying our bottle this evening with friends. Lechayim for a lovely memory that we will taste again every time we sample a bottle of Hagafen wine.

I visited the winery with my wife and six other friends. Given the size of our group, we made a reservation. We were greeted warmly with a tasting of one of their white wines, but due to the amount of other guests in the tasting room, asked to sit outside and decide what tasting we would like to try. Two of us decided to try the library wines. Four out of the five wines had a definite 'past their prime', skunky smell to the nose. Only one of the wines would be considered average, but not at the asking price. The only way they waive the tasting fee is if you buy one of the wines in your specific flight. Neither I, nor the other person with the library tasting was willing to do so. I offered to buy one from one of the other tastings, but they declined. In their defense, I could have said something earlier about the wine, but given the lack of attention from those pouring, I'm not sure it would have made a difference. None of our other friends were overly impressed with their other offerings. Between the quality of wine and lack of attention I would not go back nor buy wines from them.
