About
Experience Napa like a local on our unique guided walking tours through the heart of the city. We strive to give an insider’s look into life in the city. We hit the places locals enjoy and avoid the routes you’d find in a guidebook. Our tours are carefully organized, but they still possess a sense of discovery. Currently we offer two different walkabouts that include stops to experience: Incredible street art in the Rail Arts District (RAD Napa), tastings at urban boutique wineries, tastings of local craft beer, and visits to historic homes and inns. Both tours feature a unique side of Napa that will pair nicely with your next Napa Valley adventure!

If you want something fun to do and enjoy checking out street art then this is just for you! Kim is the best and gives you insight into the history of the Rail Arts District and the beautiful murals that are along the trail. Then you stop and are treated to wine, beer, and great conversation. We are so glad we took this tour!

I had the opportunity to take a Walkabout Tour with Kim. Although it was hotter than we expected (103 degrees ugh) Kim was sweet to bring water and little hand help fans for everyone. For me it was well worth putting up with the heat to do this tour. The art was amazing, I do love public mural art, and the stories Kim shared were a really fun touch. There are also a couple of wine and beer tasting stops that really added to the tour. I think this is a great tour to add to your Napa trip!

While out in San Francisco on business, I met up with some friends and we spent the day in Napa. Our activity for the day was our Paper Napan walkabout tour, and we loved it! Kimberly met us right on time at our designated meet-up spot, and 2 other folks joined our trio. We all had a blast touring the art trail and the unique wineries that Kim picked out for us. I enjoyed that we had a really unique experience, combining walking, art, and lesser-known -- but amazing -- wineries. Every place was expecting us and treated us super-well when we arrived. We got neat insider info from Kim as we toured; she's also a hilarious conversationalist! Of the wineries, my favorite was the nano-winery/brewery, at which we were surrounded by a lush urban garden, and tasted what was probably the best Chardonnay I've ever had.
If you're looking for a unique Napa experience with great wine and great laughs, I highly recommend this tour!

The Paper Napan Walkabouts tour was a wonderful experience. It blended street art, railroads, exercise, wineries, breweries, local history, and relaxing conversation. We learned all about the RAD (Rail Arts District) and the development of Napa as the heart of the wine and beer industry of the Napa Valley. I strongly recommend the Paper Napan Walkabouts tour expertly led by Kim McGinness in conjunction with several owners and staff of Napa wineries and breweries. You will feel like an honored Napan.

Had an excellent time walking the wine train trail with Kim who was super knowledgeable about the murals that decorate the trail. Amazing tastings at St Clair Brown, Robert Brown and CRU at the Annex spaced the afternoon out well! A very enjoyable 3 hours indeed!

Quiet afternoon spent just walking, shopping and site-seeing. We had lunch at Gott’s Roadside.Visited the Oxbow public market to do a little shopping. We realized we needed a full day to explore this beautiful city. Will definitely go back.

Kim's 'Downtown Tour' provides an entertaining and unique insight on the storied, and eclectic history of the downtown Napa area, all the while visiting some off-the-beaten-path gems that would normally pass you by, without the guidance of a true local.
If your looking for something different, or have already tried the "chauffeured up valley experience", I highly recommend getting out and about, in a truly one of a kind environment, that is Downtown Napa.

Our host, Kim, met us as planned, and was charming from the start. She had tons of interesting information about a cool part of town--the history, the artists involved, the subjects of the art itself. And the art, which was mostly large murals and smaller paintings, was really high quality, interesting artwork--makes Napa very unique city. We had perfectly timed stops at exceptionally friendly cafes, inside and out, where a server gave us more personal attention and great hospitality. Not to mention several glasses of vino and home-brewed beer. (All high-end stuff.) The walk was all flat sidewalk and easy going. Portions were along a nice river. By the time we were done, Kim was considered a new friend. Her personality made for a very fun and memorable afternoon.
