Located on 217 acres in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, di Rosa houses the foremost collection of contemporary Bay Area art, with nearly 2,000 works by 800 artists. A wide range of styles, media, and subject matter provide an overview of the creative energy and freedom to experiment that characterize this region of California. The Gatehouse Gallery welcomes drop-in visitors to view di Rosa’s current exhibition, but in order to view the full extent of the collection (including the Main Gallery, Residence, and Sculpture Meadow) a tour is required. These informal, guided tours include time for independent viewing of the artwork. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Advance reservations for tours are highly recommended.

Di Rosa is a msut see museum for art lovers. Make an appointment and be enthralled by their holdings. Many famous Northern CA artists are represented. The sculpture collection is particularly well curated in the spacious grounds dotted with vineyards. They also have nice docents who volunteer their time to tell you things you might not know about the art.... More

Set on the most extraordinary site of 200 acres this amazing gallery plus historical buildings house a tremendous collection of art in all its forms. This is an absolute must to do in Napa. In fact worth travelling from SF just to see it. Check out the web site and go. Not expensive

No better setting than a castle, no better guide than an Italian, no better wine than Castillo di Amorosa

I happened to read about this museum before our trip, and I'm very glad that I did. We booked one of the first tours in the morning, and we had an amazing time. There are so many amazing works of art to see. Art is literally everywhere you look! A particular highlight is when you get to di Rosa's house.... More

You would never expect this quality Gallery if you were just driving by. Make your reservation as they are not always open and put their address in your GPS, or look for the champagne winery across the road. We enjoyed the walk thru their many galleries and the outdoor sculptures. Everything is unique. You will be discussing this place way... More

If you are looking for a respite from all the wineries in Napa, I'd recommend stopping by the di Rosa art preserve and taking a tour. The grounds are beautiful and the art was very different. The preserve features all Northern California artists, which made this a unique experience. There was an eclectic mix of paintings, sculpture, installations, etc. Di... More

We got lucky and our visit to Napa coincided with a monthly special walk through the di Rosa meadow. You get a chance to get up close to art that, normally, you can only see from a distance. Our guide Dave was terrific. He provided a lot of information about the art that had come from his experiences of talking... More

There are two galleries and the home that contain some wonderful Northern CA art. The fields have sculptures everywhere. The variety creates interest and draws you further into the installations. The beautiful setting and the wonderful art make this a must see when in Napa or Sonoma.

What a different way to enjoy art. Check out the website for the interesting background and visiting information on this property. The couple collected so much modern art and chose pieces based on their own tastes, interests and relationships with artists. The pieces start in the 1940s to the present and include about 1700 works!! The ~300 acres were bought,... More

We visited the diRosa preserve and really loved the eclectic mix of art and installations. It was fun and interactive. There were 4 of us in our party - age ranges from 19 - 50 and everyone loved it!
