About
Kelleher Family Vineyard wine tastings are done by appointment only in the gardens here at Brix Restaurant. Weather permitting we sit in the vineyard on sofas and chairs and enjoy the views of the Mayacamas Mountains. Our chef from Brix pairs current release wines with wonderful, seasonal dishes from the kitchen and we try our best to make the most of our organic gardens when planning the menu. This is a special and unique wine country experience for those visitors looking to relax and enjoy the wonderful wines and foods from the Napa Valley.

A hidden gem in Napa.
We flew up to Napa and decided to make Kelleher our last stop of the 3-day wine tasting tour. Valerie was very accommodating in making it a great experience.
Let me preface this by saying Kelleher isn't your typical tasting room. It's located inside Brix Restaurant. This was great since we wanted to taste and enjoy dinner afterwards and all was located in same building.... So onto our experience.
TASTING ROOM
We planned our tasting weeks in advance to be enjoyed on the patio; with views of the vineyards and hills, but due to rainy weather we didn't get to taste on the patio.... however Valerie arranged for our tasting to be inside. I wasn't sure what to expect, but let me just say we all were so pleased when we arrived and found our private table all set up in front of the fireplace. Their attention to detail made our last stop wonderful!! Who could complain about not tasting in a vineyard when you have a lovely fireplace roaring and can enjoy a relaxed tasting in the comforts of a cushy chair.
We were the only ones in the tasting room at the time since it was late in the day and with rain I assumed many ended their tasting for the day earlier. Upon arrival we were greeted at the hostess station and directed to our table. The staff and management during our visit were all very customer service driven.
TASTING EXPERIENCE
We enjoyed our tasting with a cheese platter which included dried pears and apricots; not your typical dried fruit either, these were large moist pieces that paired well with their wines. Recommend requesting this for your visit (see photo).
The tasting included the following:
2015 Kelleher Sauvignon Blanc, "Block 21"
2014 Kelleher "Three Sisters" Chardonnay
2012 Kelleher "Brix Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon
2011 Kelleher "Brix Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon
A friend who is just beginning her journey tasting wine and generally only partial to rose, sparkling and whites commented that she loved the Cabernet Sauvignon; that says alot as she's not generally a red drinker but it was smooth and refined.
The CHARDONNAY was one of my favorites; however since we had our wine tasting tab moved over to Brix, after dinner I forgot to purchase a bottle. So my recommendation is to buy your wine and pay your winery tab before walking over to Brix for dinner. They don't pour this by the glass at Brix since they only had 110 cases made.
The SAUVIGNON BLANC was also delicious and I was able to order a glass of this for dinner since the case production was higher at 610.
The CABS were both good and it was nice comparing them side-by-side, some in our group liked one more over the other but BOTH were easy to drink.
The ENDING
We ended our night at Brix Restaurant which is conveniently located on property (separate review for Brix).
NOTE: There is no large signage for Kelleher, so just look for the Brix restaurant sign. Kelleher is located inside.

What a fantastic place this is ! We visited purely because our last name is Kelleher and we wasn’t disappointed ! Private wine Tasting outside next to the actual vineyard with Valerie Kelleher (owner ) and she was such a wonderful host . The wine is fantastic , especially the Cab Sauv and Chardonnay (they were our favourites ). General experience was friendly and lovely. Would recommend anyone to come here . The Brix restaurant we didn’t eat at (apart from a cheese course which was great ) but it was full and looked amazing

My now fiance worked to set up the perfect day for me with Tyler from Napa Native Tours. Our perfect day included our private wine tasting and lunch at Brix with Valerie (one of the owners). We had the most wonderful lunch with Valerie and I really enjoyed our time together. I had no idea the entire time that Ryan would be soon proposing to me! Perhaps I wouldn't have eaten so many truffle fries and steak!!! Valerie was a key part of making the proposal so successful so I'm forever grateful for her! Her Vineyard is incredible and so welcoming. And I'd be remiss to leave out how great the Kelleher wines are!!! Thank you for being such an important part of our memorable day :)

This was our second stop on the tour as you can also have lunch, since Brix restaurant is also owned by the family. We had a private room just off the main dining room where the owner sat with us throughout our tasting, all while the restaurant was in full swing, and she had the planning of her daughter’s upcoming party on her mind. That was truly special to have her there through the tasting and lunch given all she must be juggling. We highly recommend this stop! BTW, the little dog I’m my wife’s photo is not included in the tour....we just got lucky:-)
