I thought this was a nice place to rest for the morning and meditate with the mountain. If going in the summer, the mouth of the Sacramento River is a good place to put your feet in and meditate with the water. Many locals bring...More

Nice quick visit but would not stay for very long. Too bad that some people use the place as a pseudo-sacred-hippy rendez-vous.

I really enjoyed this park. I spent a fair amount of time there. I have visited headwaters before, but not in this region. It was really cool. Lots and lots of people bringing all kinds of containers to fill up. Water was delicious (although there...More

This is a lovely park, containing the headwaters of the Sacramento River, a marvelous gushing of water out of the rocks. Our visit was unfortunately marred by a population of weed smoking, clothing-optional dropouts who seemed to regard the park as a spiritual center. Our...More

It is an okay park. The interesting thing to me as a California resident was seeing the origin of the Sacramento River.

Noisy- next to highway. Full of hippies/druggies? Not worth the visit. Spiritualists are at the headwaters and seemed to discourage others from being there. Only short hiking trails. May be okay with kids as there was a play area.

What a great place to stop, explore and take a moment for yourself. This park is a great place to either enjoy company or disappear into nature, in the midst of town. Be sure to fill up your water bottle with the pure, natural spring...More

This is a must see spot. A good place to pic-nik and also get fresh water from the stream. Quiet and tranquil.

Big park with play area, picnic area and nice hiking areas with streams and dirt paths through the forest. Unfortunately though, the highway is just on the other side so the walk is LOUD and probably very polluted!

It's accessible. There are gentle slopes that may require muscle with a wheel chair but not bad. You will have to have someone else get the water from the source but you will be able to view it easily.
