The lake is located behind the chalets at the Mt. Shasta Resort. There is a hiking trail that takes you around the lake (approximately 7 miles). Many locals frequent the lake. There is an abundance of wild life including bears, and rattle snakes so some caution is needed. The public beach is huge and it only costs $1.00 to get... More

After finishing the Horse Camp Trail on Mt Shasta we were looking for a place to cool down. The Sierra Club representative at the Shasta Alpine Lodge suggested Lake Siskiyou. The lake is just on the other side of I5, maybe 10 min outside of town. We found a parking area near the lake, made our way down to the... More

Having previously lived nearby it was a recent treat to revisit Lake Siskiyou recently. It is a pretty and scenic as ever. This lake which is always maintained at full pool behind a dramatic canyon dam is surrounded by beautiful pines and mountain backdrops. The water color is beautiful. Check it out.

We stayed in the town of Mt. Shasta and were not even aware of this lake, which is only minutes outside of town. Found it on the first day of the trip and went back almost every day afterwards. Walked across the amazing walking bridge, hiked on the trail, took photos, had a picnic (yes there are picnic tables), drew... More

The lake was so close to Shasta town. I love the lake since it wasn't that crowded at all on a Friday afternoon. Swimming was great and there were beaches for picnic. This is perfect for a family vacation!

In the middle of nature, with a hike winding all the way around it, sits Lake Siskiyou. Surrounded by campgrounds and endless outdoor activities, Lake Siskiyou is the locals go-to for a quick summer cool down and a nice family picnic.

Such a fun place! Lots of activities to choose from! Very kid-friendly. If you plan on renting a boat (they have pontoon/patio boats and fishing boats), schedule in advance. We did 4 hours on a patio boat and that was perfect timing for our active 5 year old boy, enough time for swimming and fishing and we finished up just... More

As a kid we stayed in the campground and used it as a jumping off point to fish at nearby Castle, Gumboot and Toad lakes. Never had any luck at Siskiyou proper, but it was fun. Now I have went back with my family to the beach for a day visit and realized just how beautiful the view is of... More
