We saw at least 5 gray whales with them spouting, tail flipping and parts of their backs. It was exciting. The whales were a ways away for safety so I recommend a good zoom lense. Also this time of year the boat had to go 13 miles south to find the whales so be prepared for 45 minutes just boating to see the whales and then the same time back. The weather was glorious sun for us and we enjoyed the boat ride. Do wear a hat, gloves and coat to keep warm. There was bottled water for sale inside the cabin. We saw plenty from the lower deck.

The staff was great, personable, informative, friendly and efficient. Everyone seemed to enjoy their job and were all totally engaged. There was a storm coming in so the water was "rough" but our captain maneuvered through the water easily. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed our ocean rollercoaster ride! Unfortunately the staff had to take care of quite a few seasick people but did so professionally. The additional $20/person charge for going up top is well worth the cost. From the top deck you can sit comfortably on a bench or navigate easily to either side when whales or dolphins choose to make an appearance. And appear they did! I also feel it's important to note that the boat was maintained beautifully! This is an adventure I hope to do again and the Sea Goddess will again be our first choice!

We returned to Seagoddess Whales Watching because they found very good spots whales gathering. We have 20, 17, 14, 8 years old children, and they all wanted to see whales every times we visited C A. We recommend Seagoddess whales watching company. The captain is very good to navigate whales spot, and the tour guide lady gave a lot details about whales, sea lions, and jellyfish. We have great trip.

We took your 12:30 cruise on 4.18.21. We upgraded to the VIP section and when we loaded the boat, we went to that section as we weren't told otherwise. The man on the boat yelled at us to come down as we were to enter into that section all together. He could've been much more pleasant if not polite. Second, we were greeted by the female on the ship when we first took off and she explained how she would point out the whales to us then went completely silent for 90+ minutes. She left us completely alone for 90+ minutes. Zero updates about what was happening, no updated information about where we were, no fun facts about the bay, no music, absolutely nothing. This I don't understand. We accept that on a whale cruise we are not guaranteed to see whales, however, not saying anything to the people on the boat for 90+ minutes is unacceptable. There is so much that could be done in that time- see the above sentence. When the male guide walked by I kindly asked for an update to which he barked, " I have no idea". Again, so rude. We did see whales for about 10 minutes at the end of our cruise which was very exciting. However, given the overall way Sea Goddess handles their business and the way we were treated. I cannot recommend this tour.

I can’t post a video on here, but we saw two separate pods of transient orcas, maybe more than 20 in total. It was incredible and a lifelong dream of mine to see them in the wild.
I also recommend paying the extra $20 or so to be on the top deck if you can, it’s the best.

Honestly, I had a great experience! We saw so many humpback whales only 5-10 mins after setting sail, and they kept resurfacing around us for about 60-90 mins thereafter. From the videos I've shared, it seems we were quite lucky on that day to get so close to them. The marine biologists/hosts were really knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged with where the whales' locations anytime one surfaced.

I'm giving 4 stars because it does seem like a varied experience based in luck. You should know that you're not guaranteed a full 3 hours. Our trip was right around 2 hours, but in our case, we saw so many whales that it didn't negatively affect our experience. Obviously, you're sailing in the bay so don't be surprised if the fog rolls in and the trip gets cut short or visibility is affected.

No horror stories about passengers getting seasick on our trip! We went on a Friday 9:30am excursion, and the water was mostly calm, but pick up some dramamine in case you're worried. Also, it's definitely not worth it to pay for the VIP section unless your boat is quite full/at max capacity. In our case, our boat was not at max capacity so there was plenty of room for those of us in the bottom to move freely along the boat to catch some good views.

Ps. We got the groupon- redemption was very simple/quick.

We had perfect weather. Paid extra to enhance whale viewing and to help with motion sickness (also took meclizine). Saw many whales blowing/diving and even experienced whale breath! We were heading back to port when breeching whales were spotted in the distance...Our Captain detoured immediately so that we were treated to a spectacular show of cavorting juveniles!!! The crew went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience :)

It delivered in it's promise to see whales, and provide a lot information on the habits the whales and the birds, and dolphins. It was very informative. Also, we were really impressed when the captain of the boat went out of his way to pick up floating garbage that was floating on the surface. (a couple of balloons on a string)
Great experience would recommend it to anyone.

We did the whale watching 2-3 cruise and WOW. Just wow. I know you can’t promise sightings ok, but these guys were simply terrific and we saw 8-12 humpbacks, a school of two types of dolphin along with a sun fish and just had the best time.
Having seen humpbacks all too briefly in Alaska, I wasn’t actually hugely optimistic we’d see too much but man o man was this trio worthwhile…and for $58 too, this was one of my favourite animal excursions ever and I’ve done safari! Lovely crew with plenty of support onboard and constantly checking how people are, very knowledgeable and just all round a fantastic experience - please book this if you’re in Monterey

Wonderful trip! The boat was taken out far enough to see whales diving and then a mother and calf diving. The captain took the ship up close so that everyone could see the whales and also gave great narrative about what the sea lions were doing and why they were important to see whales. All three of us enjoyed ourselves immensely.
