Incredible selection of shells
Dec 2020
My sister-in-law recommended that our daughters (11 and 8) would really enjoy this place. They have an incredible selection of shells from all around the world. I never knew there were so many varieties! It helps me appreciate the beauty of God's creation and handiwork.

The Best Shell Shop
Nov 2020
I have been going to this shop for about 20 years and they never disappoint. This year, with Covid I was a little concerned about what to expect, as we are taking precautions very seriously. I was so pleased to see that they require masks and they have adequate sneeze guards in place at the counter and they sanitize their shopping baskets. While I was shopping a customer entered without a mask so the staff approached them and told them that masks are required. Even though that customer was quite rude the clerk did not allow them to continue shopping without a mask. I felt bad that the clerk had to take that sort of abuse from the other customer, but the clerk was still pleasant and respectful even after that rude person. This shop has the best selection of shells I have ever seen. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Great shop but terrible service, we didn’t feel welcomed at all
Jul 2020 • Family
I have always loved this shop, I have been coming here for 10 years however the cashier was so rude to us I had to walk outside because I was so disappointed I wanted to cry. She went as far as following us around the minute we walked in so I asked if I could leave our shells on the cabinet as I thought if she could see everything we were getting she may be more comfortable. However this didn’t stop her from watching us extremely closely. My husband and I were also wearing masks except for my 6 year old son who has a medically condition. I was then approached by her and told he needs to be wearing one, I advised of her of his condition and she was upset but stated okay. We hurried to get the rest of our things and she was obviously ready to get us out as she threw some jewelry at us and didn’t speak as she rung us up. I’m so disappointed. I’m not sure if it was the mask, my children, color of my husbands skin or the law enforcement shirt he was wearing. I thought we were very respect of the shop, respecting of social distancing and ensuring the safety of everyone around us.

Must be the Best Shell shop in the world
Dec 2019
I've visited shell shops in Manila, Florida, Hawaii. This shop is by far the best. The selection and variety are amazing, the prices are excellent, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. A must visit if you are in the region, and this is the place to order from.

An Embarcadero favorite
Jun 2019 • Couples
For such a long, long time, this oldie but goodie has made its home on the corner of Embarcadero and Marina Street for as long as I can remember. It is a seashell paradise and boggles the mind to think that such a diverse color palate can really exist in nature. Blue turban seashells? Oh yes, they are real. And the range of shell types with limitless shapes and contours pushes past the limits of imagination.

Morro Bay itself is folksy and quaint; this is shell shop is the kind of shop I've come to expect here but visitors should also take some time and walk up the 2 blocks from the Embarcadero to explore the quirky shops in the Village/Downtown/CBD district (Main Street & Morrow Bay Blvd.) to experience the character and flavor of this great little community. After all, where else would one find a bookstore that does double-duty as a wedding chapel? Or locals adopting raised flower beds for tender love and care?

So, after shopping for shells, get your giddy-up on and go forth to explore all the facets of this fantastic jewel of a community by the bay.

My young daughter saw this store online and insisted we go. It did not disappoint! Most of our souvenirs came from the Shell Shop. The whole store is shells and things made out of shells! Beautiful and inexpensive.
