My husband and I wanted to do something we never did. We had so much fun. It was a little cramped but we still enjoyed it. We did the 1 hour tour but when we go back in august we will do the 2 hour tour. It was cold but not freezing. It was so much fun.

We're happy to hear you had a good time! Yes definitely come back in the summer to really take advantage of the sun and see the incredible coastline more clearly!

Omg this was so much fun! Splurge and get the 4 person car rather than the two person car. Directions super easy to follow. Take the two hour tour so you have time to stop and enjoy the sites.

We had a great time touring Monterey in one of these sea cars. I booked the two hour experience but we did the route provided in one hour and kinda just wondered around doing the same route again. It's fun but I think 1 hour is plenty for anyone considering booking this.

We recommend that customers take their time when doing the tours there is a great deal to see it is a shame that you chose to race around the tour you missed abgreat deal and two hours is not enough time had you followed the actual tour program. Life is not all about doing things fast. You need to learn to stop and smell the daisies!

We started out our tour with a long unexpected wait time. We were promised a sea car with in 40 minutes of book our reservation (because we called in advanced) and by the time we got there, there were no cars available. Not only did we wait for our car, but 2 people went AHEAD of us. By the time those 2 people took off in their cars, we were still waiting over 2 hours at this point. With-in those 2 hours, "GREG" the mighty manager offered us a plethora of snacks. He offered to buy us a crepe, cookies, food & get this! BEER? Which completely threw us off guard since we were about to operate a motor vehicle. as 2 1/2 hours went by, we finally get our car but *WAIT* it needs gas... Gas gets put in the car, and we are on our way. We were told we would only be on a "real road" for roughly 1 mile.. which is completely untrue. you are on a REAL ROAD the entire time! People were honking, the car was shaking, the steering wheel wasn't aligned.. we were scared. As the tour went on, we noticed the car slow down, so we pulled off the road because we sensed something was wrong. Glad we pulled over because guess what? The car stopped working. It legit would not turn back on. WE TRIED EVERYTHING, it wouldn't turn back on. We were stuck stranded for about 45 minutes. The guy that works there came in a seacar of his own to try and fix our? WHICH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. but anyways, he went to change our battery and as he changes it he says "Yeah, this one has been acting strange, its been having some problems" - wait, what!? Did I hear that correctly? You willingly sent us in a car thats been acting strange? Hmmm... As he's trying to fix it, he looses a screw (which is crucial to get the new battery to seat, of course) and then says he forgot the ONE tool he needs to get the screw... how convenient. We then venture back in the seacar he came in to rescue us... we get back, the shop is closed. we are instructed to leave the keys in the mail box, which there wasn't one. so we waited an additional 30 minutes for the young man to come back to let us in to return the keys...There was also an additional couple waiting to return keys (they had been waiting over an hour) -- The guy finally arrives, and I ask about the refund we were promised for the inconvenience of our wait and awful experience, he says "its all taken care of! no worries" -- here we are today, APRIL 9TH, still no refund. several calls. emails...I am so frustrated & annoyed with the customer service of this place, how embarrassing. NEVER ever renting a sea car again, and you shouldn't either. AWFUL service & experience.

BY THE WAY, this is the first review I've ever wrote in my 25 years of being alive, so thats saying A LOT. This is how upset I am with this company & service. BEWARE.

We are very sorry to hear your experience was full of issues. We did our best on one of or worst days. As was mentioned we value our customers and know every customer is different. Greg aka the mighty manager was doing his best to accommodate your group and wanted you to feel comfortable. Offering food and drinks and joking about a beer to break the tension. Hopefully you found so fun things to do in Monterey and thanks for trying anyway.

We were treated like trash by Andrew, the “manager.” My daughter and I booked the 1-hour tour from 3:30-4:30 pm last weekend. We got to the office a few minutes early and it was closed. A sign on the door directed us to call a number if we needed assistance, which my daughter did but nobody answered. It was past 3:30 when the manager finally arrived. He had gone to assist a couple who had been stranded halfway through their tour since their car's battery had died. He did not address us to apologize or explain, but I let it go. I was sure he could make arrangements so we could still get the full hour.

We signed forms, and he took us to where the car was parked. It all started when I asked if the GPS was fully charged. He got defensive and told me in a condescending tone of voice that if they didn't fully charge them, they wouldn't be giving me a good service! However, I asked because I had read some reviews about their GPS dying halfway, and I was a bit nervous since we don't know the town.

He proceeded to explain to me how to operate the car. While he was explaining, I was trying to do what he was "teaching" me. This got him very upset because “I was not listening.” When I asked a question about his explanation, he started SHOUTING that I needed to stop and close my mouth and listen so that he could teach me. This shocked me and my daughter. I turned to my daughter and told her, "is this what I am paying for? To be shouted at and scolded?" and I stand by the statement since there was no reason for him to get so aggravated. He got even angrier. He shouted at us to get off his car and that I was being rude. However, how else did he want me to react to his yelling and scolding? I tried to deescalate the situation because I knew my daughter was excited about the tour. I asked him THREE times to calm down and explained that some people learn by listening and some people learn by listening and doing. I was trying to learn by doing by putting my hands on the engine starter, handles, etc. I was not trying to be disrespectful. He did not like that I "spoke back" to him and continued to shout as he walked back toward the office. At the office he told me I should be receiving a refund, and I told him he should be receiving a negative review because of the way he treated us. I asked for his name and after refusing to give it to me a few times, he finally shout it out in my face. He screamed, "MY NAME IS ANDREW, AND I AM THE MANAGER, OK!" He then walked towards me which made me scared because I thought he would get physical. He yelled at us to get out of his office and threatened with calling the cops. Never in my life have I felt so disrespected, dismissed, humiliated, and threatened. I was also confused since nothing granted the way he got so aggressive and rude. Nobody deserves to be disrespected the way we were.

Shame on you, Andrew, for almost ruining our trip. You treated us like trash, which speaks volumes of how you feel inside!

After renting 4 cars on 2 hour tour it was cut short after 45 mins due to complete stop of a car. Our group we stranded for 1 hour before arrival of a mechanic and 2 passengers were transported in a car back to the rental place. We were stranded where there was no amenities and had to travel to an inn for use of bathrooms. Greg had promised a full credit for one car and partial for other three, but not kept his promise. He said a credit of $112 was debited from Safe Harbor from their account but it will take a few days to reflect on my credit card. Several calls have been made to get this resolved but he is not available. Be careful about renting their cars and very very poor service or response if you get stuck. STILL NO CREDIT

Once we found that you were drinking and driving in our cars, it was decided that you voided the contract and no refund was issued.

The Rating is actually 0!!! And I have video footage of "Andrew" in action. Let's start with, it was my birthday! Headline: Andrew cancelled our PAID reservation because he felt that we would damage the cars, called police and CLAIMED we were disturbing his business!!

Facts: 1) We went to breakfast and saw that we would be late for our reservation and called to see if there was anything that could be done. We reserved one car for 2 hours. It was about 10:40am when the call was made and the reservation was for 11:00am

2) We showed up Andrew directed me inside to where we could check in. We arrived around 11:45. We should have about 1 hour and 15 minutes left on the tour. I spoke with a woman who said that the reservation was cancelled by the manager and she would go and get him to find out why? Another customer came in (Melissa) at the same time and shared that she was also late (reservation at 11:30am) by this time it is 12:00pm. The woman proceeds to help her with 2 cars, allowing her to start filling out the information on the clipboards.

3) Andrew storms in hands on his hip, asks why we were there because the order was cancelled and there is nothing left to do and we needed to go. They did not provide us with a printed receipt showing the refund nor did we have an email to show what he said was true. I attempted to speak with the other rep to understand if this was policy. I also asked the other customer (Melissa) a question. Andrew proceeded to call the police because he said we were disturbing HIS business and customers. I thought WE were customers!!!

4) He called the police. I took out my phone and recorded the conversation and his next actions... I will post on Social Media (@AkilahTrinay) and contact corporate. YOU CANNOT USE POLICE AS A WEAPON!!!

ANDREW HAS GOT TO GO!!! I hope he is not a representation of SEA Car Tours...We will see if any action is taken.

You should expect to be dealt with by Police when you threaten and assault staff, we have never had such rude arrogant and abusive customers who could not do anything but threaten and curse at staff.

You are given the option for the audio level which you can adjust to your likening, instructions from staff are easy to follow if you listen and pay attention. Apparently you did not. You did not inform any staff member during your tour that you were having any difficulty and decided to return early because you did not want to do it!

If I could give a negative rating I would. The manager was super rude and unprofessional. I asked them to look up my reservation, since they couldn’t find they referred me back to trip advisor, I commented that I have the ticket can you look up a different way? The manager insisted that I call trip advisor. I asked him to calm down, where he threw me out of his store and told me I couldn’t use his car! All I can say is wow

I booked a 1 hour sea-car tour. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we were able to get into our 2-seat car very quickly upon checking in and signing documents. However, after driving a few blocks our car died. They were quick to send out a staff member with another car which we took over. He told us that the replacement car might be a little slower than the others, and if that was the case to come back for a full refund because that was the last one they had available at the time.

Unfortunately, the car was too slow for traffic and we came back. They gave us a full refund and apologized for the tour not working out! The GPS worked and it was fun while it lasted, and I would definitely try again the next time I'm in Monterey.
