The highlight out Monterey trip

Did a 2.5 hour tour with my wife. The group size was kept at a very reasonable number around 10 people + the guide. Our guide did amazing job describing all the wildlife. She was... read more

Took a 2 hour paddle around Monterey Bay led by Lucas. He was a great tour guide, helping us get suited up in wetsuits, going over safety tips and showing us how to enjoy the Kayak trip and move well in the water. He pointed out not only wildlife we saw but also gave keen insights into the ecology of... More

Did a 2.5 hour tour with my wife. The group size was kept at a very reasonable number around 10 people + the guide. Our guide did amazing job describing all the wildlife. She was very knowledgeable and threw in tons of fun facts. There were otters and seals everywhere. We saw several otters with pups, diving pelican's and huge... More

We did a short 1 hour kayak tour Nov and were a bit worried about the cold. No worries - we were barefoot, wore only a bathing suit under the wet suit, wind breaker and life vest kept us warm and comfortable. We did get a bit damp though, so bring a towel - cap, sun glasses and sun block... More

This was our second time renting kayaks from Monterey Bay Kayaks. The staff here comes across as happy and they always smile. There is day camp for children and this place is pet friendly (yes your pooch can go kayaking with you). You must pay for parking if you're planning to park on the lot or you can park on... More

Booked this in advance of our holiday having made some queries re viewing sea otters on TA Forum and got some informative replies. Our guide was very enthusiastic and informative about the wildlife and we saw lots of sea otters, seals, birds and a huge sea slug. Great for both inexperienced and experienced kayakers - this was our second outing... More

The guys at Monterey Bay Kayaks couldn't be nicer. We have rented kayaks all over the world and this outfit is top notch. The value for what you get is the best I have experienced. For $30/person you can have a kayak all day and they come with a wet suit and jacket. Easy parking, great facility and easy water... More

Living on the east coast, I've wanted to see California sea otters for as long as I can remember. We found Monterey Bay Kayaks and read some good reviews about them so we booked a guided tour with Garrett. He was very friendly and knowledgable about the area- everything from the local wildlife to restaurants and other beautiful places to... More

We were tossing up whether to do the kayaking around Monterey Bay or Elkhorn Slough and we were so glad we went for Elkhorn Slough! The Slough was absolutely brimming full of fantastic wildlife. We saw sea otters, sea lions, seals, pelicans, various wading birds and even a sea hare! Our guide Kate was great. She gave us a really... More

These guys were great and the best thing is that they open 2 hrs before their competitors at the adjacent Kayak Connection. We got out there at 8.30am and enjoyed the entirety of the Slough with only a couple of locals and plenty of seals, otters, pelicans and birds. It was truly beautiful and really very tranquil. On our way... More

This was a great morning. The staff is very kind and helpful. The kayaking is very relaxing and relatively easy. We saw seals, sea lions, birds, star fish and otters. We saw a pair of otters and I waved at them. Honest, after I waved one of the otters stuck him arm up as if he were waving back at... More
