Nearly Free ($2.00 parking), easy walking, and awesome to see animals in their own environment. Don't give money to the aquarium to see animals in tanks, experience them in the open. It's an easy park and an easy walk to see an entire population of sea lions. Just follow the barking :)

If you really want to get close to the sea lions, this is the pier to walk out on. It is loud and smelly, but at least you are getting exercise as you walk out there. There's not really much to see out there.

This is a walkway to no where. Be sure to look down on the left as you head out. This is where you will see the sea lions sleeping on the rocks. As you get to the end you will hear the barking. This is a bachelor colony that can have hundreds of animals. If you enjoy fishing from a... More

The parking lot next to the Coast Guard Pier almost always has free spaces. When I am in the area, I like parking here on Tuesday afternoons and then walking along the rec trail to Fisherman's Wharf, through Customs House Plaza and then down Alvarado to see the Farmers' Market. To the end of the street and back to your... More

Located right next to the Reeside Access Beach Park. Walking ~10 minutes to opposite direction toward Fishermen Wharf. Such a great experience to see a wild animal, sea lions.

Was fun to stroll along the pier and see the numerous sea lions "lolling" on the rocks. Great place to watch scuba divers and a wonderful view of the bay.

We were amazed to see so many basking seals on the walk down the pier. Fantastic for close up photos or just to watch them roll 😀

Easy walk out to the pier while talking to fisherman to see what they are catching. Lots of sea lions of all sizes. We also saw many small tuna crabs, orange creatures that were floating/swimming around. On the day we were there it was quite stinky. Nearby walk along the harbor was beautiful and picture-taking worthy.
