LOVE THIS PLACE!! This is a one stop area for tourists. This is always our must go to place to eat and taste all the different Clam chowders..free samples, so you can decide where to eat. There's plenty of places to choose from, depending on what you're on the mood for. The restaurants offer happy hour specials all day long... More

Delicious Fresh Food. Great Service. My husband had the Best clam chowder. We also loved the calamari and artichoke appetizer. For dinner we had Shrimp Puttanesca, Linguini Isabella, Chicken Parmesan and Linguini With Clams. One was just as good as the other. Definitely will go back.

Good place to sea seals and other sea life and the atmosphere of a wharf. However spoiled by desperate boat trip crews who seemed to not understand that not everyone wants to go in a trip ! One person was also quite rude when we deemed to say no thank you , telling us it was our loss ! Really... More

We have never been here but was not disappointed. We loved the walk from the wharf to the pier. A lot of shops and places to eat or grab some sweets. I am sure this is somewhere we will visit again. *Only thing, I did not know there were so many homeless. So sad to see.

Looks better from a distance. Closer up it reminded me a bit of a British seaside - lots of stalls, bright colours, etc.

Of the many piers and wharfs in California, this one may be one of the smallest and touristy, yet "nothing happening" wharf. 1/2 in size of Redondo Beach Pier and 1/4 of Santa Monica Pier minus rides and people. We spent no more than 10 minutes here. We walked about a mile from Cannery Row and wasn't sure if we... More

Touristy area with candy & souvenir shops & restaurants, most of them offering free clam chowder samples (and boy were they tasty!) and coupon for free appetiser to attract you to dine in their restaurants! We dined in 2 different restaurants both nights & the menus were all similar but nice. Take a nice walk along the wharf/ breakwater to... More

We had dinner at Fisherman Whaft. The restaurants will entice you with feee clam chowder on the street and offer free appetisers if you dine in. We had the best sample of clam chowder from Jimmys Crabs, however was a little dissappinted with our main meal. Happy hour mimosa for $3.99 was good 😊

Several little shops, good chowder, salt water taffy galore. We like to head to the end to watch the seals and sea lions, if you walk off the 'main drag' to where the piano is played in the evening you are likely to see harbor seals hanging out, I think they really come to enjoy the tunes! We saw 3... More

Old Fisherman's wharf in Monterey is as touristy as the famous Pier 39 in San Francisco, without all the crowds. If you are travelling through and want to hit some of the most historic locations, this one is a good bet. Monterey was the first capitol city of California, and the old Custom House from that era sits just in... More
