Merced's historic courthouse, completed in 1875 has thankfully been kept as a museum, unlike many historic courthouses in the state, and it is an important monument. A grand Italianate building important as much for its architecture as its displays, it has nice grounds for a...More

As County museums go Merced is average but educational. They put on a lovely open house for Christmas with many area groups decorating trees that are displayed throughout the museum.

It's a cool little place with very nice staff. It gives you good insight on Merceds development and different things that happened in the valley. Not a very large museum.
