About
Mendocino Jams and Preserves, Dessert Sauces and Condiments are made with meticulous attention to quality and cleanliness. We guarantee every product which we produce to be consistently pure and delicious. We use the finest of ingredients….always…. We select first quality, whole ripe fruit, pure lemon juice, natural fruit pectin, and sugar . (We never use culled or pureed fruit, nor any preservatives or extenders.) Our sauces, too, feature the finest obtainable ingredients. We use the best chocolate, pure whole dairy cream, real butter, pure vanilla extract, choice quality nuts, and other wholesome and flavorful products. As with our jams there are never any chemical additives of any kind. We have developed our recipes so that they taste as close to fresh fruit as possible. By cooking the jams in small batches and using less sugar than most commercially produced jams, we have preserved the true fruit taste.

I highly recommend the ollaberry jam, and it's popular because it's so good. It's a magical shop and Larry is an incredible host. He guided us through the nuances of jams and cheese pairings and gave fantastic recommendations. He even helped us experience the "almighty"-but you'll have to go to find out what that is.

We found this place a couple of years ago when staying in Mendocino and wandering through the village. They are fantastic!! I use their Lemon Butter on fish, mix their Peach Cobbler Jam and Ginger Mustard with a little garlic, and thyme to make a wonderful glaze for ham.. My husband loves the Wild Huckleberry Jam on toast. I continue to order and have their jam shipped to me. If you haven't tried this place you are missing out. Love them and the personnel are super sweet.

We have enjoyed many delicious jams and jellies from Mendocino Jams and Preserves, and have never been disappointed. If we had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Olallieberry, but every one we’ve purchased is reason to re-try.

Cute store and wide selection of jams, but only two were available to taste and upon request. Not even a single jam had a price tag, only the ceramic items and the greeting cards did. I support small and local businesses and appreciate home-made goodies, I value quality preserves and often gift gourmet jams. I love berries, yet found the signature olallieberry unbearably sweet to the point of overpowering the taste. Purchased three jars (orange peel and jalapeno) and was quite surprised from the bold price of $18 for 9oz and $29 for 16oz jar.

Thank you for your review, we value our customer's input and we appreciate you supporting small businesses like Mendocino Jams.
Our tastings at this time are limited due to the Covid pandemic.
The pricing for our gourmet jams, preserves, dessert sauces and condiments are found throughout the shop on signs located next to the corresponding product.
All our offerings are cooked in very small batches by hand using the finest of ingredients We price our exquisite products at levels that are necessary to keep our doors open.
If our best selling olallieberry jam was to sweet for your liking, I would suggest our second best seller sour cherry or raspberry.
I hope you will consider giving us another try during your next visit to Mendocino!

We visited Mendocino for New Year’s Eve weekend, and visited the shop as we do every time we visit. The owner is so kind and welcoming, happy to share his story/story of the building, and samples (yum!). We love this place!

A must go every time we come to Mendocino. We usually stock up on the Rhubarb jam, Lime or Apple Butter, Huckleberry, Peach Cobbler.... The list is growing each time we return. We are trying to get new flavors each time, but they range from $10-20 a jar depending on the size. They also sell teas (huckleberry, raspberry, blackberry, etc), mustards, nuts, and a few others.
It's a small shop, with tables set up with samples of the jams, mustards, etc to try. The owners are always very friendly and the views you get from the shop are stunning. Once you're done getting your jams, you can walk across the street to the trails along the bluffs of Mendocino.

I love to visit this charming little store that features jams, jellies, and condaments made locally on the coast. There are lots of samples to taste and wonderful jams and jellies. My favorite is their sour cherry jam but this time I also purchased a pinot grigio jelly that I'm anxious to try with cheese.

Delicious jam, though quite pricey...$15 for a small jar. I also loved the wild huckleberry tea, which was $5 for 15 tea bags.

This is a must for those who are driving along PCH! It was one of my favorite pit stops! Great jams for great prices. My 13-year-old daughter purchased a slice of pie and said it was the best she's ever had! We will def return the next time we make the drive1

One if the best advertisements for a charming little shop like this is the customers sitting in the benches outside eating the goodies. Carefully hand made and great packaging design. Contents delicious in amazing flavors.
