The trip up route 1 along the coast from San Francisco to Mendocino is not to be missed. The views of the coastline are amazing! Some of the roads are very narrow and wind up and around steep cliffs so I recommend you have a car or SUV that can handle the road well. Do not recommend trying to navigate... More

The coastline is superb and well worth a trip, take the coastal walk not to be missed, plenty of secluded coves, ideal for kayaking, small towns along the coast also worth a visit.on the wrong day the sea mist can linger so check ahead.

The views are fabulous and the flora and fauna diverse. We watched the seals playing in the rocks in the late afternoon .We stayed to see a great sunset as only you can get from the west coast. Bring a bottle of wind and relax.

We have traveled to almost every state in America, and there is nothing more beautiful than Northern CA Cost. If you want to swim, you must have a wet-suit. Very cold water.

There is no other place on the California coast that has so many options for gorgeous hiking and water viewing.

After seeing the movie Dying Young, I fell in love not only with the movie but also the location where the movie was filmed so I included a visit to Mendocino as part of my bucket list. When I had the opportunity to visit San Francisco this year, I made sure that I get to see the place. It was... More

Mendocino/Ft Bragg - recommend planning for a 1-1.5 day stay. There's very little to do there. We spent 3 nights and that was way way too much. You can do the whole town of Mendocino in half a day including the coast. Ft Bragg is more coast. Glass beach and museum not really worth the visit, but you can do... More

We had a great weekend, visiting Mendocino, the hiking/biking trails, the Headlands with the waves crashing, the great restaurants and museums, and all the wonderful scenery. Very relaxing!

Words cannot describe the beauty of this coast line. I stop counting the wow moments as we drove up the coast.
