It is a fantastic coastline with many stopping places offering access. Many are busy but never had an issue finding a parking spot. Because the beach is not 100% tidal above the high tide mark can have some unpleasant surprises including doggy messages However the...More

Flew into Seattle and drove down the coast to reach our final destination of San Diego. Stopped in Mendocino for a night. Pretty town and the coastline is lovely.

Breathtaking views and raw ocean. My boys did find a couple spots to surf that weren't too jumbled or wild. The hikes and views were spectacular. The Town of Mendocino has the feel of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. Similar locals vs tourist feel but cute...More

God doesn't make ugly. The Mendocino Coast is spectacular: rugged, powerful, forbidding, unique. Anything but ugly. Note: before heading to the coast, be as filled up with petrol as you can be. Gas stations are few & far between, the ones open at odd hours...well,...More

Beautiful area. A little cold and windy, but then we live in the Sacramento Valley and it's very hot in July. Scenery was outstanding. We went to a live theatre and the Mendocino Music Festival was happening too. Small artsy community

For relief from the crowds, or the heat, there is no place as as nice as a Mendocino. Lots to see or do, or just do nothing amid one of he loveliest spots on earth.

The beach is expanse and the coast line is peaceful, rough, smooth majestic - just about everything. Fabulous array of plants and flowers on the coastline and lovely beach parts, the climb down at parts can be tricky but worth it.

The coastline around Mendocino is dramatically beautiful, wild and stunning; breathtaking bluffs and headlands, surf pounding on rocks scattered like nature's art off the cliffs. An area not to be missed!

There are several walks along the coast. Actually I think the one in Fort Bragg is nicer than the one in Mendocino. Also, the private garden walk in Fort Bragg is worth the admission price.

There are not many places in the town itself. I would book in advance.
