The water is always super cold but you can let kids play there and even splash in the water yourself if you are careful.

Great place to walk the dog and kids. Very nice beach, especially at low tide. If you bring your canoe the river is a an easy paddle up and back.

Big River beach is beautiful, a real hidden gem. We found this on the 2nd day and spent most of the next day here. Worth a trip if you like the beach and the ocean.

We used Catch a Canoe - gorgeous, fun and informative. Nature at its best and easy to access. Mendocino rules.

We rode our bikes for the 1st time on the Big River Haul Rd today & discovered an almost perfect trail. Relatively flat & plenty wide enough to accommodate bikes, people & horses (no cars allowed). This is a well maintained dirt & gravel road....More

Took the Catch a Canoe Eco solar tour. It was really peaceful and very pretty and of course less paddling.
