    Great Experience!
Four of us went to West Coast Falconry and we all loved it. It is such a fun experience and would also make a great unique gift for someone. The falconers are extremely knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information. We did the 3 raptor experience and had falcons, owls and hawks on our arms! Great time and a great place.

Super Interesting Experience with Birds of Prey
Highly recommend the "Falconry Experience" with West Coast Falconry. Kate, the falconer, and her two apprentices have deep knowledge about the hawks, falcons, owls in their care. We learned more than I imagined we would and they were able to answer all the questions that each experience inspired. I have a huge new appreciation for these birds. Who knew these majestic owls are shy? Who knew Harris's Hawks are social creatures that hunt in packs like wolves? It was such a treat getting to spend time personally involved with these beautiful birds out in the rolling hillside. Absolutely fascinating.

A must do if you love birds.
A memorable experience. We did the Owl Encounter and learned so much about owls. We were able to hold then and be a lunching pad to fly and catch them. Wonderful experience to be outside in the Sierra foothills. We met 5 owls from the larger African owl with orange eyes to the smallest owl I have ever seen.

    Outstanding
Exceptional experience. I went with my sons who are seven and nine and it was an amazing morning. The experience was the best of our trip to Oregon house and I would highly recommend it to anybody else. Small enough group that you could ask questions and had a good amount of time with the birds.

I can’t say enough good things about West Coast Falconry! The staff were kind, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about their work, and you can tell they love the birds. The entire property was clean and well-managed, and the birds were well taken care of.

The experience itself was once in a lifetime! I purchased it as a Christmas present for my boyfriend, and he was enthralled! The falcons are truly spectacular and watching them chase lures and buzz around over your head was awe-inspiring.

The owls were my personal favorite. Amadan and Wee Hamish have so much personality and it was so much fun to feed and watch them. Highly recommend this for the would-be falconer in your life. It is worth every penny!

Took my 9 year old son, who's obsessed with raptors, to the Triple Raptor Experience for a holiday gift and it was all we'd hoped for! Although the weather was cold and windy on the day we booked, Kate, Leah, Heather and their amazing raptors weren't daunted at all and gave us all a top notch experience. They were all super knowledgeable and struck a great balance between sharing great information and the raptor demonstrations. My son was totally enthralled with all of the birds - his very favorite things were being able to call Diego to land on his arm and getting to interact with wee Hamish, who warmed everyone's heart. I was very pleasantly surprised by how hands on the session was and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves raptors! Thanks for a wonderful and memorable experience!

UNETHICAL -- Would not recommend! I bought a 2-person triple raptor package from them. They canceled the day before due to the weather. I rescheduled for another day. They called me 3 days in advance of my appointment and canceled again due to weather. They are refusing to give me a refund and continue to say it is policy they do not offer refunds and will make no exception despite them canceling twice now. I am not local so cannot continue to reschedule and paid >$550 for the experience. The woman making the phone calls was unhelpful and uninterested in providing any level of customer service. Hugely disappointing... I would not take a chance and pay for services from them again.

I cannot say enough about West Coast Falconry. I booked the owl encounter for my wife's 50th Birthday and every member of our family had an experience that I am sure will rate as one of our best ever.

I especially want to recognize Frankie & Sparky, our guides, teachers, and hosts extraordinaire. From the moment we arrived, they were like long lost friends that made sure are experience was the very best.

Last but not least was the stars of the show. Each owl we met was so majestic and perfect. Having one of these creatures fly to you and rest on your hand was an experience we will not soon forget.

West Coast Falconry is a wonderful educational experience for the entire family (not small children). The guides are fun and knowledgeable and the birds of prey are amazing. The training for the basic class is sufficient to whet your appetitie for more indepth knowledge.

My girl and I signed up for the “Basic Falconry Lesson.” Kate and her team were super welcoming, and their passion and respect for the birds is clearly evident. We had a small group of 6 in the class. We were able to keep socially distanced during these strange COVID times. West Coast Falconry is a small business dedicated to the ancient art of falconry. It was clear that they have an interest in preserving and promoting the sport, the beauty, and the true nature of these awesome raptors.

My wife Nancy and I loved every minute of the time we got to spend at West Coast Falconry. We arrived at 7:30 AM and left at 11:30 AM. The birds are right there when parked our car and got out, they are spectacular. Brian and Megan welcomed us, Megan began introducing to the birds, got us gloves, while Brian readied the two birds we would work with. We walked through the beautiful rolling property located near the edge of the Sierra Foothills to what Brian called the "office": a vista out to enormous open space and scrub, giving way in the distance to the rising terrain of the Sierra. He had the falcon Beebe on his arm and led a discussion to introduce us to falconry. Then Beebe flew for us and we got to see how falconry is conducted. Then Beebe interacted with us flying to and from each of our arms under Brian's supervision. Brian's passion for falconry, and his birds and sharing with us the wonder of these birds and the bird/human bond of falconry is a centerpiece of the experience. Seeing up close Beebe devouring his his quail reward was spectacular.
We then spent time with the Sonoran Harris’ hawk - Don Diego. We interacted with Diego in a wooded area where the hawk flew freely all around us and perched just above us on rocks and trees, participating in several activities where he landed on our gloved hand when signaled as Brian showed us how to do, and retrieved food morsels. Brian emphasized how special Diego is given that all hawks are very intelligent and it was easy to appreciate him.
Lastly we spent time with the exquisite little screech owl Hamish. He is a precious little bird who coos and twitters constantly while he flies back and forth between guests and accepts food from our fingers.
Again, my wife and I loved the morning and appreciate Brian and Megan very much. We were given so much to encourage our appreciation of the birds and of falconry.

Had the full experience of working with a falcon, Harris hawk and Eastern Screech Owl. Each offered extensive education about the birds themselves and how they hunt. The interaction with each type of bird is very different and worth experiencing. You witness the speed of the falcon, the very different hunting style of the hawk and the silence but force of the owl (even as tiny as it is!) You get to have each on your gloved hand and plenty of photo ops. Highly recommend this!

It was so much fun going to West Coast Falconry, my group opted for the hawk walk and it was amazing doing a small hike and seeing their hawk Mariposa in action. Walking through the trees and holding an arm out for her to quickly perch on was like something out of medieval times. We had two falconers with the entire group of 5 guests.
Amber was so kind and funny with the hawk, who had so much personality that it really made an experience on paper seem so droll in comparison. The truth is being out there on there land with these amazing birds is something everyone should experience.
I left there, came home, and immediately booked another experience. These birds are shockingly light for some of there size. They are regal, prideful, hilarious. I learned so much from coming here and would urge others to attend as well.

Took my grandchildren on the Raptor Experience last week. Falconers Amber and Brian were so friendly and very knowledgeable. They kept things fun and we learned a lot. We got to see three of the birds perform aerial maneuvers, first with the handlers. Then, we got to put on the gloves, to have the birds perch on our hands for rewards. Such a great way to get to see these magnificent birds up close. We got to spend two hours with the birds, just the four of us and our hosts Amber and Brian. They provided many opportunities for taking pictures with the birds. It was a most memorable experience.
