Nice drive to the winery. Small tasting room. Bob was a real nice host but no formal tour. Nice friendly dogs on site. Wine is real reasonable starting at $10 a bottle.

My husband & I spent a week in Mariposa to visit Yosemite. On our day off from hiking we drove to the Butterfly Creek Winery. Great conversation & beautiful property! The owner is very knowledge of the park with great hiking recommendations. Sadly we only brought two bottles of wine home with us. Drank one bottle on our first night... More

Having arrived in Mariposa from San Francisco, we were advised to visit the BCW by several local people. The drive to the Winnery was wonderful, and when we arrived Bob met us in the Car Park. We finally made it to the small, but cosy tasting room and samplled several great red wines. Having purchased two bottles of Merlot, my... More

After touring Yosemite all day we rushed to BCW because of the wonderful reviews. We were not disappointed. It was even better . We tasted 6 different wines and left with a few bottles. We should have brought a picnic. Lovely tables outside. Next time!! We love the place and Bob is fun to talk to. He is also guiding... More

Bob is a great storyteller and worth the visit. My only negative is his wine is better than his storytelling. The tasting room is small as is the gift shop but the wines surpass everything. While driving down a road that you think is taking you off the edge of the earth you find a simple tasting room with picnic... More

I checked the hours on the website right before we left. We drove all the way out there just to find the "Closed for Private Event" sign.

Cute family owned winery nestled in the Sierra mountains near Yosemite, a perfect stop after you've visited the park. If you're in a bad mood, Bob Gerken, the winemaker, will see to it that you don't leave that way!! Butterfly Creek has won several awards and has a nice variety of reds and whites to suit most palates. BCW is... More

It's a little bit of a drive off the main road, but well worth it. Not only does Bob Gerken make some very good wine, but he makes the tasting experience sooo enjoyable. Nice place to sit outdoors while tasting if you want. Just a great experience and very tasty reasonably priced wines. Good wine club too! If you're going... More

Great little winery where you can meet the makers. One of our favorite places to stop on our way to Yosemite. Try their white Merlot.
