Signed up for the 3 pm horse ride for our 6 yr old (minimum age for the horse ride and they stick to their guns on this one r/t liability and their policy). Extremely well organized and we could not have had a more beautiful Saturday afternoon than Sept 25th/21. The staff working with the horses quickly assign each rider to a horse and methodically help everyone into the saddle after sharing general rules and guidelines re. masking, etc. The rules of nothing in the pockets should be adhered to as our daughter's debit card slipped out of her pocket and a staff member came out to safely return it to "grandma". Dress warm for ride, as it is an hour on the horse and walking through forest shade. Both 6 yr old and mum did well. Games in the yard were fun to participate in (all free) and lots of tables to enjoy a picnic at. They sell alot of the horse stuffies and I thought they were somewhat overpriced (at least for Grandma's value system). Bathrooms clean. Restaurant spacious and they had a system where one can pre-order food. Lots of interesting books and things to purchase in gift shop. Our daughter went to school with one of the owners so that was a special reunion. The staff are doing an excellent job of offering a unique experience during Covid and my only prayer and encouragement would be that all the staff are vaccinated. They do all wear masks.

Good afternoon Helen,
Thanks for the wonderful review, your feedback is greatly appreciated. We are so happy that all 3 generations could come and enjoy themselves at the Ranch. I'm glad that the weather was nice and you were able to enjoy the games as well as the restaurant. It was nice seeing your daughter again, I just wish there was more time for us to catch up. Hopefully we can connect soon.
Again, thanks for your kind and detailed review.

We did the full day (6-hour) horseback ride and it was amazing. The ride started out in the morning (9 am)then we took a break for lunch at a waterfall we rode to, then rode back to the ranch. The scenery is amazing. Incredible experience, we were able to see much wildlife including a bear and wolves. The horses are well trained and well taken care of. The guides are very knowledgeable. Out of all the horseback rides we have done with other ranches in other national parks and state/provincial parks our ride with Boundary Ranch has been the best. Some in my party have prior riding experience while others had none and both groups throughly enjoyed it. We will certainly be coming back to ride with Boundary Ranch again.

Good day Kiana,
Thank you for your 5-star review and sharing what a great experience you had with us. The full day ride truly is an unvelievable experience that emerges you in the depths of the mountains surrounding Boundary Ranch. Its an honour to be ranked the best in your books among the other trail rides you've done. We hope to see you again before the summer is up for another ride! Have an awesome day,

I did sleigh hours ride on March , it is not authentic experience the hours every slow and no view to enjoy , sleight in text path in Between trees and no chance to see any wild animal . The arrangement was good and hot chocolate was nice. The place indoor decoration is very nice . They should do some new sleigh path to be more enjoyable and have fun rather than I slept well sleigh move.

Good Afternoon 626khaledh,
Thank you for taking the time to place feedback on Boundary Ranch - We greatly appreciate it,
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your sleigh/wagon with us.
As it is the horses pulling the sleigh/wagon it is a lot slower than a motorized vehicle would be as they use their strength to pull. As we are in a provincial park, we are unfortunately limited to our set trails. Most of which are in some sort of tree's areas which are too steep for the horses to pull a sleigh/wagon up. The opportunity to see wildlife is something that is always a chance however not guaranteed as we do not place fences on the property to keep them in. The only wildlife we can guarantee seeing is the buffalo.
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your hot chocolate and the set up of the building's though!!

Kananaskis Country is well known for glorious fall foliage. The aspens at Boundary Ranch put on a splendid show every September. Good place to stop for refreshments on Highway 40.

The staff are very friendly and experienced. They welcome you with introducing each husky and horse by name. The sled & horse ride went very smooth as all of the animals are well trained. Overall, the package is worth it and would consider doing it again in winter!

Great place, friendly staff, almost exactly 1 hour drive from Calgary with good road conditions. Kids loved, chilly but January, is to be expected, just dress for the weather. A fire, hot chocolate (with Baileys), and marshmellows ready to go upon arrival. Fun sleigh ride, perfect length with kids (45 mins) kept them entertained without feeling too long or too short. Highly recommend for an easy half day outing, i am sure a full day in summer without Covid restrictions would be good.

My son and I come to the mountains often but I wanted to do something different with him, I came across Boundary Ranch while googling things to do. I saw the sleigh ride and thought it would be fun. When we arrived we were greater right away and given waivers, after filling those out we enjoyed some hot chocolate while we waited for the other riders to arrive. Once all there we were led to the sleigh and we were off. The ride was fun, lots of sights to see, we stopped at the Buffalo loop as well as the teepee, and got a beautiful view of the mountains. Overall it was a very enjoyable, my 3 year old loved it and can’t wait to come back in the summer.

Did the half day Trailblazer ride. Our guide Cloe was great making sure the small group was safe at all times. Was a unique experience to ride in the mountains, there were some great vantage points with amazing views and Instagram worthy pictures. Majority of the ride was through bush with no view but still enjoyable. Boundary Ranch is walk only rides, nothing faster than this. Perfect experience for beginners, their horses are safe and experienced.

We did the winter sleigh ride (wagon since the snow was melting) When we first arrived I felt a staff member was annoyed with us because we were 20 minutes early instead of 30 minutes early, then as we were getting onto the wagon that same staff member told everyone that we would be seated in the order we arrived and said "you guys will be in the back since you were here last" I felt she was extremely rude. I brushed it off because my kids were so excited for the ride. I would say that the ride was not worth the money paid. I think we stopped more than we actually rode on the wagon, which was extremely disappointing (could barely hear what the guide was saying at each stop) The guide was great and friendly though. My kids loved that we got to roast marshmallows at the end of the ride. Overall I wont be back again.

Good Afternoon SantayaK,
Thank you for taking the time to review Boundary Ranch - We greatly appreciate it,
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with us. Unfortunately due to past issues with groups fighting over where they are sitting on the sleigh/wagon we did have to bring in the rule of seating people in the order that they arrived to make things fair.
We are glad to hear that your kids loved their marshmallow roast and your driver!

Good Morning,
Unfortunately our minimum age for Children is 6 years old to go on the trail rides.
We do offer Pony Rides for children 5 years and under however these vary on availability depending on the trail rides we have booked.
Please feel free to contact our office for more information.
Are there any cabins available for over night stay or maybe over night camping? Old style wagon train or cattle drives to participate in.
