I got the flyaway (LAX to Union Station) from Terminal 1. It stops at each terminal, sometimes multiple stops per terminal and for me this took 30 mins from getting on at T1 to actually leaving LAX. Once we left LAX we had a great run into Union Station. For context, this was Saturday 940am leaving T1 and arrived at Union station about 1040 I asked my hotel shuttle to drop me at the flyaway stop and they just dropped me at T1. Next time I would consider asking to be dropped at the T7 flyaway stop to avoid the 30 mins of stop start, but other reviewers here have said that the bus fills up at the earlier terminals and sometimes misses the later ones. So please probably arguments either way!

A $9.75 one way between LAX and Van Nuys or Union Station, this is a cheaper form of transportation than private rideshare and avoids the stress for your driver of navigating the horror of the LAX traffic loop. Keep in mind though, the pick up times are just an estimate, and the shuttle may NOT stop at every terminal due to being filled up...a packed shuttle just whizzed right by me at terminal 6. After waiting another 20 minutes, I gave up and walked to terminal 1. I was then able to board an empty shuttle. Next time, I will do this right away rather than risk being bypassed by a filled shuttle. You can buy tix thru the app, or just pay w a credit card when you board. The shuttles also offer free wifi, though the security of the network is questionable.

Flyaway Los Angeles is now two companies: the Van Nuys one and the LAX one. The Van Nuys is a 5 star experience, the Union Station is a poor experience. I have ridden the Union Station bus well over 200 times because of my job, sadly because it’s a monopoly some drivers abuse the system. One never helps with luggage even for elderly passengers while others are helpful, another nearly ran me over as I was loading the bus when he had stopped with a bus half empty. 3 passengers including me were putting our luggage against the loading door when he didn’t even come out and left nearly hitting one of us. We ran to the next terminal where he stopped but couldn’t catch up. Next bus arrived one hour later after 16:15. This happened at 15:20 on June 4, 2024. In any company the driver would be suspended or fired. Total wait time in midday thanks to an incompetent and lazy borderline dangerous driver 75 minutes. Meanwhile the Van Nuys operation runs smoothly with excellent drivers, which proves once again it’s all about management. At Union Station management is incompetent and simply ridiculous. The city should intervene as it’s an essential service.

From Baldwin Park metrolink station to the front door of my terminal was 15 dollars! Uber was quoting me over 80 dollars. Granted, you need to plan some extra time to do this. The busses pick up about every 15 minutes. And for the return trip....the bus makes the loop terminal by terminal starting with terminal 1 and ending at terminal 7 before returning to LA union station. By the time it gets to terminal 7 the bus could be full. You could walk to terminal 5 or 6 if you are very worried about not getting the next bus.

I am a frequent flyer and I ALWAYS travel with Flyaway. They have several stops on lower level terminals at LAX, they have two destinations VAN NUYS and Union Station from LAX and vice versa. They have big comfy buses, wi-fi doesn't always work. The bus was mislabeled as VAN NUYS bound from LAX but it actually went to Union Station, that was ok, as the driver went out of her way to make sure nobody got on the wrong bus. If you arrive at LAX and need to catch a bus/ train, this is your best bet. You may purchase your tickets through their app or an arrival at a kiosk by using your card. Cost was 9.75 USD on January 15th 2023.

Even though the bus is supposed to run every 20 minutes, my family and I waited over an HOUR for a bus, only for it to be full by the time it reached our terminal. The next bus was 45 minutes later. When the next bus finally arrived, the driver rudely demanded everyone needed a mask to enter. Fortunately a stranger gave my family and me extra masks as we didn’t have any. The driver then rudely said he wasn’t going to let us on and drove off, leaving my family and me and 8 others standing at the curb. This guy should be fired today immediately!

The bus departing at 7AM on Monday January 27th, 2025 from Union Station left two minutes early as we were walking up the stairs. We had to get a $60 uber after already buying our bus tickets. The times of departure for LAX flyaway buses are posted and Union Station is a very busy location with many other modes of transport coming in, so sticking to the posted time is very important for everyone transferring there. Leaving early is unacceptable and we are very disappointed.

This is the worst airport transfer I have EVER taken!

Refuse to take passengers when there are spaces and he threw our luggages into the luggage compartment after we insist on boarding as we waited for the 3rd bus already.

Avoid at all cost if possible. Find other alternatives if you can.

Full buses leaving LAX to Van Nuys. 2 out of three trips I’ve had multiple full buses drive by. Last trip 10/30/23 evening. The 4th bus stopped, had 8 seats, there were more than 12 people waiting. Had been waiting 1 hour 45mins. 10/3/23 evening. 2 full buses drove by, made it onto the 3rd bus. Waited 1 hour 20 mins.

Purchased tickets expire after 30 days. We bought our roundtrip bus tickets 21 days before our trip, thinking the "expiration" only applied to the "ticket sale" date. Nope... our return ride fell outside the 30 days, so FlyAway made us purchase ANOTHER one-way ticket to get home. We asked if we could push our return fare to cover the one-way fare. Response, "Nope. This is our policy. Tough luck." Rip off.

NOT RELIABLE!! The 3:40 pm FlyLAX pickup at LAX did not show up. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone, & I couldn’t connect with anyone online. I’m therefore missing my Amtrak train I paid $54 for due to their lack of professionalism & reliability.

I had 3 buses pass Terminal 6 at LAX that were going to Union Station, because there were all full. They kept saying another bus would be by in 10 minutes, which is not true. There were plenty of buses picking up passengers to take them to Van Nuys FlyAway. I finally walked across the parking lot to Terminal 2 to catch a bus to Union Station and by time they got to Terminal 5 it was full and they bypassed Terminal 6 again.

The drive to Union Station was fine. Driver was nice. It was crowded getting off the bus because the group waiting to get on the bus to LAX is standing right where you are claiming your luggage. Needs better organization for passengers getting on and off the bus at Union Station.

All you need to know before using Flyaway service is DONT USE Flyaway service. Busses are full, collecting people starting from terminal 1, so if your terminal is not 1, most likely you’ll not make it. Also coming every half an hour, so just count hours that you will lose if you decide to go with Flyaway. The worst experience I ever had.
