Neighborhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

We recently travelled to LA from Australia and pre-booked our transfers with Zippy before arriving. I could not find another shuttle company that could provide a booster seat for my son (I did not want to bring one from Australia). We were picked up at LAX and taken to our hotel in Anaheim. Then we used them again 3 times during our stay. Each time we were picked up on time by Ken in a lovely clean van. Provided with bottled water and lovely clean booster seat for my son. Ken was so friendly and great to chat to on our journeys. Very knowledgeable about LA and interesting. A genuinely nice person.
When one of our hotels didn't provide great customer service we rang Ken and he got us in touch with a local driver to take is to universal studios (as I couldn't take regular taxi due to being in a wheelchair). When Ken dropped us back to LAX we felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. Even my son hugged him goodbye. I highly recommend Zippy Shuttle in LA. Nothing is too much trouble for him.

We used Zippy for the first time for our family Disney trip. Sam our driver was awesome. We were able to text with him and it was easy peasy, very clean van and great service with our 3 littles. Sam even provided a very clean baby seat for our 8 month old, we will use again! :) - The Stevens Family

Zippy Shuttle is the best shuttle service in LA. I don't use any other shuttle service other than Zippy, the hole process is seamless from the simple booking service through to the pickup.
Ken and he's team are wonderful and prompt with clean vehicles. Ken and he's team make sure you are comfortable, we have used this company quite a few times its now like traveling with family.
On my first trip to LA i used a different organization who arrived late with dirty vehicles. This made for an unpleasant trip to my hotel.
If you are looking for a shuttle service when you arrive at LAX then Zippy is the way to travel.
Thanks Zippy Shuttle

I attempted to use Zippy Shuttle for our upcoming trip to Disney, but after a bizarre email exchange, which ended up without a booking made, I feel that I need to submit my experience. After seeing great reviews here, I went to their website and put in my information to request a quote – 6 of us travelling, 3 adults, 3 teens, 1 bag/person, provided our hotel name, which is in the Disney area closer to the conference center. I didn’t have our flight information handy so only provided approximate times of arrival and departure, as I’d follow up after the quote. No special requests. I submitted my request Feb 25 @655pm. I received a reply shortly after with a quote for round trip, along with the request for airline info etc. as well as the terms and conditions, including that payment would be due within 24 hrs, the refund policy, and the fact that they will email detailed confirmation and instructions after payment.
The price sounded reasonable, but I had a few questions outstanding, so I replied the following morning thanking them for the quick response, liked that their quote included tax and gratuity and provided our flight information (as I had only provided general times in my original request for quote because I didn't have the details on hand), as well as 2 questions – if they provide service right to the hotel (as some transportation providers don’t), and if they would be able to provide pick up service early enough for our international departure at noon (as some transportation providers don’t).
Before I even received a response to my questions, I was emailed an invoice, with instructions to pay in full within 24hours. A few minutes later, I get a very short reply saying they sent me an invoice, and “yes, all good on your queries.” I thought that was a bit odd – to receive an invoice so quickly before I even received confirmation on my questions. But I guess an “all good” was sufficient for now. I replied stating that I’d discuss with my partner that evening, and reiterated that Zippy seemed to have a great reputation. I also wanted further clarification on a couple of questions – I asked when they’d suggest our pick up times be for our arrival at LAX and then departing the hotel a week later. I didn’t think talking with my travel partner was out of line, nor did I feel that asking further questions was either. However, within 5 minutes of my reply, I get notice that the invoice was cancelled, and a reply saying that I had ‘stated that I was ready to book’ so that’s why they invoiced me. (I had to read through the email that I apparently ‘stated’ this, and in no way did I actually say I was ready to book.. I just provided information that I didn’t early on the online form, and then asked questions). Regardless, I was taken aback - I get a quick invoice, I have 24 hours to pay (in full), I say that I’m going to discuss with my partner, ask a couple more questions - and the invoice is cancelled. I didn’t ask for it to be cancelled, and was intending to pay (in full) the next day, within the 24hrs of it being issued, after I discussed with my partner. I was honestly starting to feel rushed to pay in full, before I could get my questions answered or discuss with my partner.
The next afternoon, I emailed Zippy again, said we were ready to go. I guess he took my response too literal as I said “I think we are ready to book!” and then provided all the details he needed again, as within the 24 hours, our flights had changed. I also asked my final 2 questions again – time for pick up at LAX and time for pick up for our departure as we had an international flight and I wanted to ensure we were at the airport in time (knowing it’ll be an early start due to distance and traffic). His response was telling me to let him know when I’m actually ready to book, as he will only create an invoice for this booking one more time. Hmmmm… I thought I was clear but then realised I said “I think…”. So… another quick reply back stating, yes we are ready to book, and reiterated my questions. I also apologized for the day before, and the misunderstanding of the invoice. Again, another reply from Zippy, telling me very bluntly that I was still confused with whether or not I wanted to book, that if I went back in my emails that he was very clear in his instructions, and that I’m either not reading my emails or I’m not communicating accurately. He told me this was the second time, and declined me as a customer suggesting I go elsewhere.
I know in Zippy’s original email at the bottom it states that a detailed confirmation and instructions will be sent after the invoice is paid, but I still felt that it was not unreasonable to get answers to my basic questions before I pay a substantial amount in full, only to then find out that the timing wasn’t going to work for our flights. An ‘all good' doesn't cut it as an answer for me. I didn’t feel I was misunderstanding him, nor was I not communicating accurately – I was asking what I felt were logical questions, but, at the same time, was also very willing to book. So I tried again. I sent yet another email, apologizing again for my casual approach to communication, and explaining that I thought I was clear in my intention to book. I asked for confirmation of booking, along with answers to my questions for pick up at LAX and our hotel.
Another reply to me telling me that I had obviously not read any of his emails, and that I was not a serious customer. He told me to go to another company.
And that was that. I would’ve copied the emails here verbatim, but that’s not allowed. However this is how the exchange unfolded. The experience and exchange was odd, exacerbating, and has left me completely baffled as I've never had issues with my communication or asking basic questions before. I truly feel that even though apparently they pride themselves on providing excellent customer service (as I was told numerous times), when asked basic questions about their service and logistics, they only wanted the money up front. I hate to be in the minority providing a poor review, but after my bizarre experience, I need to raise a flag.

We used Zippy Shuttle twice recently in LA - once as a transfer to Hollywood hotel and then again to head to Anaheim. Kenny is the best! What a delightful introduction to LA! Full of local knowledge, Kenny was the friendliest driver we have ever come across. Why anyone would use the larger groups when Kenny is reliable, priced fairly and the nicest bloke you will find is beyond our comprehension.

My wife and 8 year old son were planning a trip to California to see Universal Studios, Disneyland and Legoland. We wanted a hassle free way to get between these parks (and LAX airport). We chose Zippy Shuttle and are so glad we did. They are the best! We contacted them for a quote and Ken (the owner) quickly came back with very competitive prices for a private car for each leg of our trip. These were also the final prices inclusive of all taxes and gratuities.
Every driver we had was great (especially Ken, who drove us on two of our journeys!). They turned up on time and the cars were clean and well maintained.
If you're looking for the best shuttle service in LA then look no further - Zippy Shuttle is it!

There are numerous other companies that offer better customer service. Ken from Zippy Shuttle was exceptionally rude and unprofessional when my family tried to book shuttle service. He would not provide an invoice for the requested trip and responded with one to two word replies to simple questions. When asked for more info he said we did not want to use his services and he would pass. Customer service and basic communication were quite lacking and I hope this does not reflect the company as a whole.

I did actually send an invoice, and the customer above did not pay it. Before that invoice there was another attempt to send an invoice and it was hindered. This booking request had many extenuating circumstances, but to be fair to all customers and potential customers, we do not publish any sensitive private information. Suffice to say there is much more to this booking than the customer is stating.

Seven of us spent eight hours with owner Ken and his driver while they showed us the points of interest around Los Angeles, at the same time transferring us from Anaheim to Hollywood.. Ken seemed to enjoy his tour director role and his interaction with the adults and children was entertaining. I'd recommend this service to any visitor to Las Angeles

I initially was going with another shuttle that was a shared service but arriving at midnight with 2 kids and having to wait for a "full" shuttle was not appealing at all. After reading all the positive reviews I decided to get a quote for a round trip shuttle from LAX to Anaheim. Ken replied within minutes and the cost was more than fair for a PRIVATE shuttle. Meng met us at LAX at midnight and even stopped at 7-11 for us to buy water for the hotel room. On the return trip from Anaheim to LAX, Six was our driver. He was early and told us to take our time. He and his Aunt made great conversation & got us to the airport in good time. Safe driving, friendly drivers and get customer service. Will definitely recommend and use again! I have never been so satisfied with a shuttle company than I have been with Zippy Shuttle. We used them for an airport to hotel transfer from LAX to Anaheim and then a Universal Studios pick up and drop off and I must say I'm very, very pleased! The drivers arrived on time (a few minutes early actually!) and they were so lovely and I felt very comfortable with them. From the first email quote I sent to Ken, to the last ride we took with them back to the airport they were simply amazing. No dramas at all! Ken has such a great company. Will definitely be using them whenever I'm back in town! Every other shuttle company should take some notes from Zippy! Thanks guys!
