Neighborhood: Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.

- avgjoeyBarrie, Canada568 contributionsGood VenueWent to a Kings game and the experience was good. Love the outside grounds with all of the various athlete statues. Inside the view had no obstructions and seating seemed larger than most places. Cost for food and drinks are typical arena prices and there were a lot of choices. Parking is a bit of challenge if you are not familiar with the area.Visited November 2019Written March 8, 2020
- timothyy298Redding, California437 contributionsStaying nearby and so...This place is well worth a visit even if it is closed or you do not have a ticket to whatever is going on inside. The Center is designed to welcome visitors. The statues/ photo-ops are excellent. There is even a statue of a broadcaster at a desk with an extra chair for you to pose in. Of course, the Center had me with the Gretzky statue. The Kobe memorial was poignant. Plenty of nearby restaurants/ touristy things to do.Visited February 2020Written March 5, 2020

Last night's event inside had a quiet minute too. Outdoors hundreds of mourners. T-shirt sellers $10 or memory scarfs 5 bucks. Must see before it is gone. Large photo displays on buildings surrounding the Staples Center. MeuterMediaVisited January 2020Written January 30, 2020
- Gavin MIpswich, Australia30 contributionsCould be awesome, but...Went here to watch an NBA game with 3 friends. We found it nearly impossible to even buy tickets to get in. Not sure if it had something to do with the Kobe memorial but it was so disorganised and horrible that we just about gave up. The centre itself looks nice and is well maintained with great sound and lighting. Confusing on how to get to the top levels though, seats were very cramped and drink/food prices are OUTRAGEOUS!! Robbery really. Not sure how they get away with it. This could be an amazing centre but there were so many downfalls with the experience.Visited February 2020Written February 8, 2020
- Ben Ramirez1 contributionCleopatra ink is unprofessional, unorganized and confused shopI made an appointment to have a tattoo done for a specific date, I called back to move the date so I would be able to have the tattoo artist of my choice after reviewing their IG accounts. A woman answered and sounded very confused then she handed the phone to a gentlemen who confirmed that my appointment was moved to the date I requested. I got there early to ensure I respect their time to find out that the "manager" said he did not have me down for that day?? He begin to give me reasons why it could have been a mix up by telling me that have several phones that employees use and they may have not got the info right? I informed him that I spoke to someone at that location, I even confirmed it with the gentlemen that I spoke with. I took a day off to get this done and it was a waste of my time. The "manager had a I don't give a sh#*attitude. I asked for a credit. The company proceeded to text me that they were the largest tattoo company in the world, why? i guess to brag and not take serious a "nobody's" time. Don't waste your time for a unorganized and unprofessional " tattoo shop"Visited April 2022Written April 15, 2022

The atmosphere is crazy and I’ve never witnessed anything like it. Was very lucky to get affordable tickets near the Lakers tunnel. - elizabethlascheidLos Angeles, California4,771 contributionsPretty Good Place to see a concert. The Crypto, com Arena used to be Staples Center. Nothing has changed but the name. If you are going to basketball or hockey it is great place to see such sports. If you are going to a concert it is above average and so much better than the huge stadiums that are just awful. The sound system is very good for a concert. It holds thousands of people so it is going to be crowded. They have top acts there and many of them sell out very fast. The staff is very nice and can help you. They have a no bag policy and you get a special line if you do that. If you bring a clear plastic bag they will let you in, you will just be in another line which is longer. I suggest you get there early. Parking is a bear in that you will be walking up to a block if you are not there very early. They have parking, but some of it is around the block. The parking people seem confused and are not much help. The food there is above average, all the junk food you may want. They also have a bar on every floor. The seats are a little small and plastic so they are not the most comfortable, but they are fine. Use the restroom before you get there or as soon as you get there. There are not enough, especially for women, and the line is long. We have been there for many events. I do like it and I think you will as well.Visited September 2022Written January 1, 2023
- advcardsReno, Nevada3,420 contributionsCrypto.com are anWhen do the Kings hockey game was awesome, our seat in PR 12 needs to be flagged as a obstructed view. That part was disappointing. Lots of technology in the scoreboard area area around the park. Extremely busy so if you want dinner before budget enough time, an hour and a half was not enough for us to get a seat. Some of the side parking lots right about 20 bucks the main ones go 60 to 70 so if you’re up to five minute walk drive around the arena.Visited December 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten December 4, 2022
- Nicole1 contributionTERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICETERRRIBLE costumer service. The people who are supposed to direct you to your seats know NOTHING and are totally unhelpful, the managers or the people in charge of the events (for my case Calibash 2020) were rude, even to their own workers. When I called to complain and at the end of the day they ignored me and kept hanging up on me and it took me almost a week to talk to the supervisor. At the end of the day, they told me that they could not do anything about because (since me and my friends lost our tickets on our 3rd move of seats due to the fact that their staff do not know the directory of the venue) they had no prove that we actual purchase the tickets. Instead they sat us very far from where we were supposed to be seated and took a long time to just tell me that there was nothing they could do.Visited January 2020Traveled with friendsWritten April 9, 2020
- Derek ORugby, United Kingdom46 contributionsAmazing venue and fantastic staffDuring a visit to LA in the regular season, a trip to see an NBA game was a must. We were really fortunate that the Lakers were home during the week we were there, so booked 4 seats for our family. We knew we would be high, but did not really appreciate the steepness of the rake of the top tier seats. Seats are pricey so we booked the row offered by the website. When we arrived and sat in our seats, some of the family really felt very uneasy sat at the top of the seats. I went to customer services and asked if there was any way they could assist and they were really accommodating and managed to re-seat two of us to lower seats. This was all that was needed and we had an amazing evening watching the game. Unfortunately the Lakers lost that night but it was still a great evening. Great thanks to the staff who helped with the seat changes, it really made the evening.Visited December 2019Traveled with familyWritten January 7, 2020

Went here decked out in our Canucks jerseys for a Canucks vs Kings game. Everyone was super friendly, even when we were teasing each other. Pregame there was a beer garden with a few contests. Inside there was an issue with us buying beer as our Canadian ID & Passports were not "valid" until we pointed out to the staff how to read them, then a supervisor just got annoyed and gave us the beer. Our seats were in the nose bleeds and the seats are super steep so the more you drink, the more precarious that gets! Couple surprising things - 1. we were rocking the classic (1990s) Canucks jersey's and even got a few compliments from locals that knew what it was 2. the give away was for a trip to Alberta. BC has nothing to do with Alberta...

Been here for quite a few events, especially NBA games. There isn't a bad seat in the house, even the nosebleeds which we usually sit at to save money. Its clean and the staff is always helping, especially when you need help finding your seats. For a special work event, we stayed in one of their suites and had a great time. Even though we were in a special room, we still felt part of the game. To top of the suite stay, the dessert cart was brought in and we were in heaven. There's a ton of parking outside if you don't want to park in the arena parking. I've heard that you can even take the train here, which I've yet to do since we usually just drive.

I love that Tripadvisor still has this listed as "Staples Center," which is how most of us in SoCal still refer to it. I've come here for Lakers and Kings games several times over the years, and most recently came for a Kings playoff hockey game. Even though it's over 20 years old, it's still a great venue.
Security and traffic flow inside are very good. There are many parking lots around the area, but it's very easy and much cheaper to just take the Metro to the Pico Station. From there, it's an easy and safe 5-minute walk. Be sure to also check out the north side of the arena where all the statues are located.

I attended the Lakers and Golden State game. The arena was nice, the event was very organized for there being 18,000 people in attendance, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I also loved the statues of the legends outfront. It was beautiful. I wish there was one of Kobe Bryant.

Service good, food poor and extremely overpriced in suites. No real choices for healthy food. They need complete redo of offerings and pricing. Same for suite level bar access. Overwhelming demand, few bartenders.

Where are the ushers? We went to the Lakers vs Warriors game on 3/6 but our view of the game was consistently obstructed by people walking into our section for photo opts. This happened throughout the game, even up to the last minute. I think the Lakers won but not sure since I couldn’t see the court. This is the only venue I’ve been at that didn’t have ushers and security who prevented this from happening.

Travelled to So Cal to watch a few hockey game in late November. Caught the Kraken/Kings game here. This arena is so big that it's a bit overwhelming. It's gigantic. Nonetheless parking was easy (though it's about a 10 minute walk from the arena), there was a lot of room, and it was easy to get around. Fans were great and we had a good time. Would like to come back someday.

I booked same-day tickets last minutes to take my daughter to watch The LA Lakers during our stay in Los Angeles. Neither of us are familiar with basketball as a sport but we wanted to go for the experience. The followers are so passionate and it was great fun to watch!

We are planning to watch a Lakers game. We’ll be driving in from Las Vegas and we plan to stay the night in LA before driving back to Las Vegas. What areas that’s close to Staples Center or near the freeway to head to Las Vegas shall we look for hotels?
I'm looking to buy tickets to a game in February. I'm on vivid seats and they have loge level 101 for $598 a ticket but its ZONE SEATING and then they have PR5 seating for similar price. Which should I go with for best seats? Also when I go to other ticket sites these same seats/area are so much more expensive than vividseats, is there something fishy here? Thanks

I don't know about iPads. There were security checks and phones were OK, but, as with all American sports events, bags are thoroughly searched and have to meet specific criteria. Sorry I can't be more help - If you go to the Staples Centre website, they have a FAQ section and contact details.
