This is our fifth time taking a trip around Long Beach, CA with the Big Red Bus, and they never disappoint. It is a local business, run by local people who make everyone feel welcome. This year was a surprise because we felt sure the pandemic would not allow us to tour the Christmas lights of Naples, but The Big Red Bus took all proper precautions: the whole event was outdoors, and the people in charge made sure we were all seated with social distancing in mind. Also! I have lived in Long Beach my whole life, but somehow every year they share interesting trivia, and I end up learning something about my home town. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a lovely time.

It was a great tour. The hot chocolate felt cold on a cold evening . The Santa hat was too small for my boyfriend and myself heads.
Suggestion for improvements: The trolly set up may can be improved . People sitting in the middle may not get the best view and the MC has to repeat the jokes for from and back section which they become redundant for the middle sections .

Better than what I thought.. Lots of fun.. The people that were also part of this Sunday Funday Pub Crawl were fun folks.. That helped.. Would do it again.. Keep an eye on weather.. Can get chilly, at least at the start!

Our commenter called out sick that day and our bus lady was less friendlier than imagined. I wanted to ride the trolley with my little boy since he loves the trolley but it was old and dingy and smelled like gas. The whole ride was just boring. I basically paid someone to take us on a holiday ride that would have been more enjoyable in our own minivan. Waste of money and wont do it again. The nerve our bus lady said at the end "we work for tip". No tip given lady since you did less than you should have done and attitude is not jolly at all!

I purchased 7 tickets for family members and on the day of our ride it was pouring rain. The rain was so harsh it was pelting us all inside the bus. We were soaking wet and uncomfortable. The seats were drenched and freezing cold. We just wanted the ride to end so we could go get warm and dry. I had called earlier in the day about the possible weather issues since I had elders and young children joining the ride. A representative told me we would be fine and only our feet might get a little rained on. Not al all the case. Very disappointed, wish we could get refunded. It was not worth the hassle. Also, while waiting for the trolley in front of Legends bar, there were no umbrellas or tents to stand under and keep dry. We arrived 15 minutes early and crowded under a small roof but still got wet. Could not enjoy cookies and cocoa because we were holding our own umbrellas and crowding together. Why didn’t this ride cancel? What a nightmare.

We paid for our neglecting to sign up in October; our "punishment" was having the Big Red Bus completely booked and having to sign up for the Trolley boarding in Belmont Shores. It was not as much fun. The cruise through the neighborhood to see the lights was okay not too fast. Of course, time is of the essence as they have a schedule. In the past on the Big Red Bus there was time to sing Christmas songs. On this trip all we got was a plethora of Dad Jokes Christmas related. Next year we'll remember to sign up for the Big Red Bus in October.

I have taken this Trolley ride every year and it is always something my family and I look forward to. I have to say... I was a bit disappointed this year and to be honest last year. Prior to boarding you are asked to arrive early to check in and have hot cocoa and cookies before boarding. We had the first trolley of the night. We arrived 20 mins early to a crowded bar with our 5 year old grandson, no one was set up. No cocoa and cookies for my grandson. When someone finally showed up and started setting up a table, it was at the time we were meant to depart. No one knew where to line up. When the trolley finally arrived 20 mins after the scheduled departure time. They had finally put the cookies and cocoa out and said you can get some when you get back, fine. When we all walked over to the trolley, the driver announced it was over booked but was going to squeeze everyone in. He proceeded to literally cram people into rows. The 2 families with little kids under 6, our family and 1 other family were given the worst spots for little ones to view the lights. The driver must have hit the curb 3 different times, and our ride was definitely cut short due to the late start and 3 scheduled rides after ours. I have taken my family on this ride for many years, 100%, it was shortened and rushed. I think that was why I was so disappointed, it used to be such a special thing that LB offered, and referred so many families, but not so much any more. It makes me sad we won't be continuing this tradition next year.

I've done several of these double decker bus tours in different major cities while traveling. Unfortunately this one in in Los Angeles was my least favorite. First the stops to pick up the bus were not clearly marked. We drove to the address of a bus stop however there was no sign marking the bus stopped there. We asked several people in the area and business owners, no one really seemed to know where the bus actually stopped. We ended up missing the bus as it drove passed us even though we tried to waive it down. 30 mins later we knew where to stand and caught the next bus. We rode on 3 different busses as we hopped on and off. Each bus had a different tour guide, the guides gave some information. One of the guides seemed very off put by customers, (granted it was busy and the end of the day). Overall I wish I would have spent my money on a different tour.

The Naples island holiday trolley tour of the lights was informative and funny. The tour guide spoke about the history of Long Beach, specifically the Naples Island area, while also including an impressive amount of Christmas-themed puns (think, "dad" jokes). They provided free hot chocolate and DELICOIUS cookies while waiting for the trolley after checking in. 10/10 would recommend for families with younger children, or a friend group/date night for those who appreciate a good pun!

“Check in then stand around they will come get you.” There’s no specific line so even if u get there first which my family did we were the last to board. The bus parks in front of chase bank. Check in is in front of legends. The walk to the bus is pretty much whoever “checked in” but no bodies were counted so anyone can pretty much jump in the crowd to the bus. My family was last to be seated and did not think we were going to make the ride because it seemed as if it was full capacity. A couple came up behind us and asked if it was already full. I asked if they checked in or bought their tickets and they said no. They could’ve easily boarded the bus had there been room. They don’t check for tickets when onboarding. Luckily we made it on but I had to sit on a “box” that wasn’t even a legitimate seat. Ride was ok just needs more organization.
