I didn't stay in a room but the lobby bar and restaurant were super. Friendly bartenders and excellent food (had breakfast -- steak and eggs -- at midnight). Super!!!

Small but mighty fun spot. The rooms are cool but not huge still this place was fun and the upstairs bar was beyond cool and fun. I'd recommend this for singles or couples but not families. The highlight is the bar of the rooftop, beyond fun!

Great place to grab a drink at the rooftop pool bar if you are downtown and have time to kill. Awesome views.

Downtown LA is all I'd ever dreamed it would be. The people were lovely and friendly. Loved talking with a Mexican-American lady shop owner. I bought seven different Baseball style hats from her at a bargain price too. Caught a bus to Hollywood for a Dollar.

High price for a, not that exciting, time. According to the locals we spoke to this was the place because of the view. The view was decent but the $20/person entry wasn't.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! These people are racist and very selective on who they let in. I was discriminated based on the way I looked along with my 5 other friends. They claimed our "Illinois" ID's were "fake" but they didn't even have an ID scanner! Fernando Quinones (aka the manager, which I honestly think was not... More

I went to the Standard in Hollywood. Nice trendy place. Had a live Mannequin that people weren't allowed to take pictures of. They were preparing for a private event. So we didn't stick around because nothing was really going on. Will give this place another chance the next time I come to LA

Its time for the Standard to set a new standard. The cool crowd have long long gone. Staff should relax and treat every guest as someone important. Other than that clean and still Old style cool!

The Standard Downtown is a great hotel option in Downtown LA. There's a lot to do at the hotel itself (eat/drink at the biergarten, lounge by the pool, eat at the 24 hour diner, get a haircut, play ping pong). If you want to explore the neighborhood there are also a lot of restaurant options within walking distance. The rooms... More

If u want a room to party in, this is the best hotel. You can play music as loud as you want all night long. The room are huge enough that you can have a party of 20 in your room

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
