We are the convenience store for all of your time traveling needs! No matter the era, we have something for your travels.

All proceeds from The Time Travel Mart support 826LA.

We also have a sister store located in Mar Vista, CA!

826LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

History

Established in 2012.

To raise funds, inspire creativity, and advertise our programs to the local community, most of our centers include a street-front retail store filled with unusual products, entertaining signage, and, of course, our books for sale. San Francisco's pirate supply store sells glass eyes and one-of-a-kind peglegs, 826NYC's Superhero Supply Company offers custom-fit capes, Seattle's Greenwood Space Travel Supply Company sells all your space commuting appurtenances, 826michigan's Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair Shop specializes in must-have mechanical conveniences, there's a secret agent supply store in Chicago, the Boston Bigfoot Research Center for Sasquatch studies, and the Museum of Unnatural History is in Washington, DC. Los Angeles is the only city to have two 826 centers and storefronts, with the Echo Park and Mar Vista Time Travel Marts.

I went to the other location of this shop on Venice Blvd, which is quite small. There were no surprises based on the reviews here, and their website. I 'pre-shopped' online to make sure it was worth a visit to their store, as we were staying in the Venice area. My favourite item are the Stephen Hawking candles. What great... More

It's a wacky idea, and a few good things to buy in there. Tins of primordial soup, and a viking deodorant (cod flavour) for example. But it's only small, and just a shop, not an exhibition or anything. Work a look if you're passing but not worth a big detour. Nerdy kids would love it.

How could we resist a visit to a Time Travel Mart?! It was even more fun than we imagined and we were happy to buy some imaginatively packaged souvenirs to help contribute to the kids writing workshops that take place behind the mart. Service was friendly and fun!

I have to say that this was disappointing - and I do well know that disappointment comes out of expecting something and not finding exactly that. So maybe my expectations were too high... The shop is tiny and with no atmosphere at all, some of the jokes there I've seen before in toy-shops and one-dollar shops around the world -... More

This little, thriving "convenience mart" is a great stop off the beaten path and it seems, for time travelers preparing their journey. If you are shopping for souvenirs or looking for fun gifts or just want to have a blast with the kids.. either way, this should be worth a short visit!

Wasn't the one in Echo Park but wasn't too shabby. A little cramped but delicately filled with clever little items of yesteryear. Things like dino eggs, telephone booths, bottles of isms and typewriters were expertly placed all over the joint. Loved it.

Took the kids and some friends to this little, convience-type shop in the middle of Echo Park. It contains all sorts of gag gifts and retro-future items. The idea is that this is the place you come as a time traveler to stock up before your next trip. Tons of fun items like time travel sickness pills, Viking Deoderant, and... More

The Time Travel Mart is on Sunset Blvd., a little over a block west of Echo Park Ave., a short way west from downtown; the #2 and #4 buses stop at Echo Park. The store's motto is "Whenever you are, we're already then". They sell, among other things: Time Travel Sickness Pills Dinosaur Eggs (three different sizes) Dodo Chow Robot... More

Let's see if I can remember some of the fun products sold there.... Viking 'odorant' (my term), in case you want to smell sweaty and like rotten vegetables, Viking bad breath spray, bottles of time, dinosaur eggs, and so on. It would be a fun place to buy joke gift.
