About
The Original Farmers Market has been Los Angeles’ favorite destination since 1934. With more than 100 old-world grocers, an eclectic array of shops and dozens of restaurants serving cuisine from around the globe in an al fresco setting, the Market is a beloved town square for locals and one of the city’s top tourist attractions. Known for its variety of cuisine, the Market offers something for every taste - American, Brazilian, Cajun, Chinese, French, Italian, Middle Eastern and more! Many of the businesses have been family-owned and operated for generations. Recently the Market had added a variety of artisan grocery and specialty food merchants this year including organic, seasonal produce, gourmet pickles, single origin coffee and more! The Market strictly adheres to all Los Angeles County Covid-19 protocols.

    So many different vendors
The Original Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles is a welcoming place, with not only fresh produce and meats, but also a wide choice of places to get a meal, snack or beverage, as well as, gifts. Recently, several parking spaces were converted to seating areas; more security staff are visible. It is well-maintained, with regular cleaning of its public restrooms.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon!

    The place exceeded our expectations
There were a great variety of stalls to enjoy at the market with plenty of food options. The commercial area nearby was a great place to relax and have a walk around. There were plenty of restaurants and shops. The fountain show was unexpected, as was the trolley tour (which unfortunately didn't have time to do). We really enjoyed the vibe there and it was one of our highlights from our Los Angeles trip.

    Fabulous markets
These markets have been here since the 1930s and full of varied stalls. Ranging from fruit & vegetable (really reasonably priced), butchers, gifts and everything in between. There is a number of restaurants and bars if feeling hungry or thirsty with various price points. If I lived in LA I definitely would be coming here regularly to get my produce.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon!

Free to enter, eat and pay for what you want, souvenirs available
A must visit in the city of angels - I was lost in wonder for a couple of hours. Located at fairfax and third, this market is mostly outdoors and boasts some of the finest cuisines from across the globe. There are also the freshest fruit and some cool souvenirs and merchandise for sale too. Wednesdays seniors get a 10% discount.

    Worth a visit
The Farmer's Market has been an institution for about 100 years. Many food options. Produce is priced well. Food is above fast food prices but below nicer eating establishments. Also a good variety of touristy shops. Next door to more upscale The Grove shopping center. Validated parking for Farmer's Market lot only for a couple of hours, but watch the time because it can get expensive. Occassional live bands.

    Plan a short visit
This is a nice place to visit in the morning with its many food vendors. You can get parking validated by a shop but it only gives you an hour or two of parking. There is a "World Market" accessible from the same parking lot. That store makes for some good browsing as well.

Tastes and smells of food around the world!
Amazing food! From the outside, it doesn't seem like much. Then one walk through the gate, and we're hit with the sights, smells and sounds of all the food vendors. Our group had American cheeseburger, BBQ, and empanadas - all delicious! This is definitely more prepared food and less true farmers markets stalls. There are also markets for spices, cheeses, meats.

Must visit farmers market in LA!
I highly recommend the Original Farmers Market for the sheer variety of food stalls, mixed with artisanal shops, produce stands, and a newsstand, a fine toy shop, and lots of nice vendors. It’s got a lot of character and charm. Good places to eat are Pampas Grill (Brazilian churrasco), Banana Leaf (Singaporean cuisine), a crepe place, another place that serves banana bread. The great thing is that it is right next to the Groves shopping center. Parking here isn’t cheap but if you purchase from any vendor, you can get a validated parking ticket for free 90 mins parking.

Great shopping and lunch or dinner stop
A farmers market like no other. We were on a 3 hour tour of LA and this was our lunch stop. We had to go back on our own to see more. Vendors of all varieties includes confectioners, fresh produce, butchers, jewelry, household good and more. The food court is an open area with several types of foods of every kind and don't forget the ice cream. Very interesting

A Fun Place to Eat with so Much Variety
This is a fun place to visit in Los Angeles. It is best to do so for a meal, but it could be any time. It is also great to do with a large group like we had with 12. Everyone can get something different and then come together to enjoy at a common table. On our lunch visit, my wife and I got chicken tenders, but our group had sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads. Then you can do it all over again for dessert as there is cookies, ice cream, doughnuts, fudge, caramel and so much more. For me, the only downside is too much choice that you can get sensory overload. This kind of is the original food court, perfect for people watching. Talking about people watching, the other thing the market is known for is surrounding TV studio's looking for talent, so you never know who you will see. In total, it is a fun stop and a chance to enjoy a wide variety of food. Again, we had 12 people, and it was one of the favorites in our group

I don't understand the rave reviews. This is a place that caters for, sorry, rips off, bus loads of tourists. There is no other justification for the prices. We came two days running, the first as independent tourists attracted by the reviews and the second as reluctant tour bus customers, trying to avoid the previous day's mistakes. A tiny sandwich from a bread stall cost $15, one tiny unimpressive taco (with a long line to boot) $6. Our local market stall in small-town UK makes better, cheaper tacos that actually taste of something.

If this is the best LA can do to impress visiting tourists, I'm glad I'm heading out of town tomorrow.

Absolutely delightful! Mind you, we were there on a not-too-cold and dry evening. There are a limited number of enclosed restaurants, but loads of places that have a roof, and even heaters in the ceiling to keep the chill away. Great place for a meal and a stroll.

Do not leave L.A. Hollywood Ca. without visiting the Original Farmers Market located
at 3 rd and Fairfax. This is my first visit back in 60 years and it seems to never have changed. So much fun, lots of places to visit inside this place. The same meat and fish markets are still in operation since this place started in 1938.
I had a great corned beef sandwich in one location and my wife had the Crapes in anouther called Du Pars. No matter what you would like to eat I think you will find it here. But also so much more than food. Fresh fruit from the area and gifts for the family at low prices are also found here. People from all over the world come here and are just having such a great time. Plan to spend a few hours at least here and they have good parking. also, bus tours visit here as a must visit place. A gem.
great for the entire family.

A foodie's paradise with lots of options and fresh groceries, perfect for relaxing stroll with friend. Sometimes it can get crowded but you gonna be fine. downside is some store can be pricey and the price markup is too funny. But with that being said, I still think this is a great place to visit

I love love love this place. great food and lovely people watching. the grove is super obnoxious especially the apple store, but the essence of the farmers market still exists, for those who want everything from crepes, to salsa to souvenirs! also, the buses are free in LA right now (nov 2021) and the 217 bus goes RIGHT HERE - for free ! youre' welcome :)

This Market is more of an open-air food court than a farmers market, but so cool to explore. Our group of 5 was able to pick food from different stalls before sitting down to eat together. The food from Trejo's Tacos was great. We also enjoyed donuts and coffee there after checking out the Grove next door. Go early to avoid crowds. There is also seating upstairs though, if it is crowded.

This market is gigantic...filled with a mind-boggling array of food choices, including many international cuisines. You’ll also find a gourmet market, fish, butcher, fresh fruit, bakeries, gift stores, etc. Food stalls combine with a number of sit-down restaurants. Down the street are many upscale stores and a movie theatre. A great place for lunch or just to browse.
