Established in 1934, when a dozen local farmers parked their trucks on an open field (once a dairy farm) to sell fresh produce to local residents, the Market has remained true to its roots ever since. With nearly 100 dining, shopping and grocery opportunities, Farmers Market has something for everyone. More than seventy-five years later the Farmers Market remains the one stop shop for every visitor’s needs.

I love the original Farmer's Market...and with it combined with the Grove, it combines the best of old and new. It's a great place to get some food and also shop at some unique little shops. Get there early as it fills up pretty quickly with tourists.

This is the best Farmer's Market I have been to and literally there is something for everyone. From Du-pars to ethnic food to candies and souvenirs ... I wanted to try everything. A lot of it is covered so inclement weather can be tolerated ... it was quite cool while we were there. We went there on a tour bus... More

WOW! If I lived in LA, this would be my spot! The fresh meats and produce with the quaint shops. It was a perfect place to visit! We went over to check out the service station and the original green shopping carts. So fun!

When you're tired of shopping in The Grove's zaras and nordstroms come here to have some good (but a little bit overpriced) food. On weekends night you can even catch live music performances.

I simply love this place! Taking a stroll among the small shops and savoring some food is amazing. When I first visited the Farmers Market, I thought I'd have never found anything like this in LA. I suggest to go for a walk here on a sunny day, browse around the market and try some foods/drinks. They also organize a... More

Food stalls, eateries, and produce markets greet the visitor who happens to visit the place. The place was set to have been built in the 1930s and was and is still is now, a very popular landmark in LA. There is a street car that connects it to The Grove.

My family traveled here as it was rated high on the things to see and do in LA. We were not impressed. We parked at the Grove and attempted to do a bit of shopping, but the prices for the merchandised were sky high, so we moved on to the Farmers Market. We were very happy with the wide selections... Its a nice place to see, you have the craft shops and crafts in wagons which has a market type vibe and then you have some exclusive shops for some retail therapy. Good place to spend and evening getting dinner and burning some time walking around. This place also has some historical significance.

This is the ultimate destination for tourists and foodies. The versatility of dishes from all parts of the world is available in this one place at reasonable rates. I was deeply satisfied by some tasty fish and chips as well as a couple of local dishes.
