You know, as someone who has lived in LA for the past 10 years it was actually pretty nice being driven around and able to look at the sites of LA! I had friends visiting from Dallas and Chicago and they found a good deal on Groupon. She had an extra ticket and I took the day off work so I said Why Not!? In comparison to the other tour guide vans like TMZ tour, the van is very outdated. The office is a little sketch if you are not familiar with the area. That could use an update too. I am not sure where those pictures of the vans come from on the brochure with the bright colors but we were in a white mercedes bus van...like the old school kind. But once I got over the fact that it was old and and bit dirty inside, the tour was actually kind of fun. Von our tour guide was comical in his presentation while taking a few digs at celebrities and what life is really like in Hollywood past the glitz and glamour of the million dollar homes. He had some good information and was a safe and attentive driver. Never once did he show impatience while driving so I felt very safe. Safety is important especially since the tour takes you up the hills of Mulholland. All in all, its about a 2 hour tour. We were pretty timely in looking at all the sites and getting back before rush hour traffic. Hopefully you get a clear day in the hills as it was hard seeing the city views. Overall it was a good time for $20!!

With there being so many tour companies in Hollywood, we just basically picked one after searching and considering reviews. The gentleman at the ticket sales was not overly friendly, but once we got with the tour guide, he was great. He made the tour a lot of fun. Most of the sites, however, were from older movies, actors, etc. and younger people didn't really know or appreciate the history given. I, being a bit older, did know of many of the homes and sites. Overall, it was a good tour and lasted the full allotted amount of time.

We started late because people didn't arrive on time. The rule is to get there 1/2 hour early. I wish the driver had more information and history. It seems like some information was repeated. One of the stops were a lookout, and we were overlooking the Hollywood Bowl. I didn't recognize who was performing, the driver could have let us know other people that had performed. Plus the Capitol Building was in the distance, lots of movies have destroyed that building and the history would have been fantastic at that time. The trip pressure was too much. I have never been through Mulholland Drive, but the history of who he was is a really great story. I got my tickets through a discounted company, so the value was good.
