Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.

- elizabethlascheidLos Angeles, California4,771 contributionsIt is more than a store, it is an experience.Buddy and I we're on our way to Frozen, the Musical, in Hollywood, right on the Walk of Fame, for I think the second time. We parked on the street and began to walk. Buddy started pulling on my hand and dragging me to a store I had never seen. He had never seen it either but it was covered with cool lights, and it was huge and it turns out it was a huge toy store, right next to where we usually stop for a snack before going to the Pantages. The place is called Funko Pop! and it is amazing. There are all sorts of Pop! dolls, collector items, stuffed toys and other toys mixed with gigantic replicas of movie and cartoon characters. We could have easily spent two hours in there. Buddy looked around, his eyes all lit up and he was so happy. He looked at all the offerings and saw all the replicas and asked if we could come back later. I told him we would come back every time we went to the Pantages. The service at Funko is great, everyone is just a huge smile and they know everything about these life-size, and bigger, characters and from which movie or cartoon or comic book they come. It is great for kids of all ages and I saw quite a few adults buying these Pop! characters. You will love this place. It is at least 1/2 a City block big, and you can take photos on the characters and there is a lot of space. It is a museum in a toy store. If you are on vacation, this is a must stop in Hollywood. There are only two of these store fronts at the moment. The one in Hollywood and there is also one in Washington State.Thank you for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review that will help others!Written February 27, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2020Written April 18, 2020
- Kerry M26 contributionsA real experienceMy daughter collects Funkos, and really wanted to do the Pop yourself, so we made a special trip during our recent holiday to California. It was very well organised, with roped off areas on street outside, then groups of so many being escorted into shop at regular intervals. Staff were very accommodating and helpful, as being from UK we couldn’t get text notifications for our turn in line. Daughter was so excited the whole time, having her photo done with so many of the oversized funkos throughout the store. Prices were also good, we had seen them more expensive in other areas, so that was a nice thing. The Pop yourself was really good, although done on a computer rather than building yourself, which is understandable. And it really does resemble her. Overall we spent a good hour in here and would definitely recommend it, and would even make another visit one day.Wow, this review is so appreciated. - carmen l65 contributionsFun Time for All AgesI found this place by chance as I was looking for activities for our teen to do near Hollywood Boulevard. My daughter is a Pop Funko fanatic so she absolutely enjoyed herself but we did as well. There is life size empty Pop Funko box when you walk in that you can stand in. There are movie scenes like The Little Mermaid or my favorite GOT Drogon, Khaleesi's dragon. You can also custom make a Pop Funko for yourself. I suggest you do that first because it takes time and you will get a text when yours is ready. Our teen wanted to do it at the end and we waited longer with nothing to do. We were able to park at a meter (maximum time is 2 hours but there is an app that you can extend your time).Thank you so much! Please park in the Eastown Garage off Argyle Street on your next visit. We will validate with a minimum purchase of $25.Written February 27, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2022Written July 24, 2022
- Christopher W1 contributionGive it some serious thought before spending all day in lineStore is cool and has a large selection but my problem lies with how Funko manages their customer base. I went to the store to specifically do the "create your own pop" but was disappointed by the experience. The store doesn't open until 12 pm (which is pretty ridiculously late) but online it says that if you get there an hour early at 11 am they begin taking reservations for the make your own pop since there is a daily capacity. On the day of however, they said that has never been a policy of theirs so the website has very outdated and useless information. It was cool to customize the pop figure but once I received it I was somewhat disappointed. It's cool to create a likeness of yourself or someone else, but the accessories and the way the figure is put together is very cheap. Mine had glasses and they were crooked and the hairpiece was completely off center and didn't properly fit the figure head (the accessories also never stay in the hands and are constantly falling out even though they put a small amount of glue to keep them in place). When I asked if they could replace the parts they flat out said no which I kind of understand but with all of the hype I just felt meh about the final product. The problem I am starting to have with Funko is that they create outrageous expectations and limited availability to increase demand, but the fans suffer from the way they poorly manage the distribution of their products. Glad I was able to visit but wouldn't go more than once.We appreciate this feedback and would love to have you visit again to see the ongoing updates to our Custom Pop experience!Written February 27, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2021Written July 5, 2021
- Alex19 contributionsAmazing Place for Children and Adults! This place was so amazing! I love Funko Pop figures and collect them so I had to visit this place when my girlfriend and I went to LA. She doesn't even collect them and she had an absolute blast here. It's free admission and you get to see really cool displays dedicated to Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Rick and Morty, Harry Potter and more! One of the biggest draws, however, is being able to make a personal Pop figure of yourself! The process of making your own Pop is really cool, and even though the options are a bit limited, the end result is sure to make you smile! Make this a part of your itinerary and I promise you won't regret it. I rate Funko Hollywood 10/10!What an amazing review, thanks so much and please visit again!Written February 27, 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Written December 13, 2022
- DRSSan Diego, California12 contributionsThis place is EPICWe had a great time. Brought my kid and some of his friends 12-13 year olds. If you want to make your own funko pop be sure to arrive early. We got in line exactly an hour before the store opened and there were already 30-40 people waiting. By the time the store opened, I couldn't see the end of the line. It was probably around the block. We went on a Saturday. Once we got into the the store we were able to walk right up to a kiosk. They don't have a time limit or maximum number of items so you can make as many as you like. It was a very welcoming environment and all the staff was super friendly. We want to return.Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! They have a variety of sections including Disney, marvel, DC, villains, anime, Harry Potter, tv series and more. If you go in right when they open it won't be as crowded and in a weekday you might find street parking. If you eat at one of the restaurants by it, you can park in the garage and you might be able to get free parking validation. Thanks for checking out the Funko Hollywood store and for the awesome review!! As soon as we arrived outside the store, the excitement was palpable. It’s a pretty immersive experience with super-sized Funko figures everywhere. Lots of photo opportunities. Selection of figures is ridiculous - almost overwhelming. But our kids didn’t seem to have a problem finding ones they liked. Not many exhibits are free these days and this excellent exhibit is free because it’s also a store. A must stop if you are in Hollywood. Away from the crowd of the main tourist trap is great. Lots is photo opportunity inside. A Fun time for all ages!

We stumbled in here on accident. It was HUGE! The workers were very friendly and helpful. They had so many cool displays to take pictures with! My husband and I had a lot of fun. We found some Funko's that we didn't know existed. I would definitely bring the kids here, they will love it! We did!

It is a store and a free attraction with lots of statues. Lots of friendly staff around to help to take photos. The restroom was clean. Lots of merchandise on sale and it was not easy walking out without feeling tempted to buy anything.

Do you have to queue just to shop or just to do the build your own? We’re going to be visiting on a tour so will be limited for time?
Monday-Wednesday are the best days to visit if you are looking for shorter wait times to enter and make your own Pop!
