We were fortunate enough to get Sparrow all to ourselves (my wife and I) for the Total L.A. Tour the day after Christmas, which turned out to be a great idea because there were no crowds at all.
We had places such as the Walk of Fame and the Dolby Theatre with minimal people.
She was such a friendly host and showed and informed us of things we would have just walked by without knowing.
Only thing that (for us) we could recommend was replacing the visit to the Paley Media Centre with something else and instead of the Beverly Gardens Park sign i think a photo with the iconic Beverly Street Sign such as the one at intersection of North Santa Monica Blvd and Doheny Drive would be better.
Apart from that it was a great tour.
I recommend SPARROW!!

This was a fun tour to take! Sparrow was the tour guide for the day. Apparently her boss forgot to tell her that I was supposed to be on the tour as well, so she called him to clarify as soon as I brought it to her attention. She also made sure to get me the proper transportation card for the tour. Starting off the tour seeing the Hollywood sign was fantastic as well as the Walk of fame. It was also great finding handprints at the Chinese Theater. The first highlight of the tour was being able to go to the tar pits beccause I wasn't able to do it when I went to the Museum of art the day before. The farmer's market was also wonderful because it was something unexpected from where I wanted to go for restaurants and I got to go to Dylan's candy bar, a sticker store, two french restaurants and also bought some amazing apple mint juice from a small farm stand. Seeing the cupcake ATM was interesting. The Paley center wasn't the most exciting and we didn't exactly get our Santa pictures but watching part of a Christmas episode of I love Lucy was funny. Even though it was a part of the tour, going to the hotel that I stayed at as part of the tour was pretty convenient. Getting back from the beach took some doing but it was great to ride a bike for the first time in several months or so. All in all it was exciting and refreshing to take this tour.

Having grown up and worked all his life in Detroit, Bob was a very knowledgeable host who was especially mindful in pointing out the architecture in the city, its history and how the city is trying to make a comeback. He was very forthright about its demise and the attempt to revitalize it. We saw various famous buildings with full explanations about them it the city's history, the river front area with its unique art, theaters and the sports complex (baseball/football stadiums), all within a square-mile or so. Bob also showed us pictures from a book he maintains of Detroit and various famous buildings from their glory days so that we could visualize and appreciate where the city was back in the 50s, 60s and 70s. He captured the essence of Detroit and provided an excellent history/summary of where the city was/is. The walking tour also included a taste of Detroit's famous Coney Island hot dog and the its pizza.

What a great way to see Downtown Detroit. Bob our tour guide was knowledgeable and took us to sight I would have struggled to find alone. We finished the tour with a great Coney Island tour then Bob helped us to find our way to our next destination. It was a really good morning and well worth doing.

It's great when a guide can engage with the group on the tour no matter where they come from and they certainly did this here. I also liked the chance to hop onto the people mover and try some local food - something I might have missed if I'd just been walking around by myself. Best of all, we visited several buildings I'd never have gone in without being on this tour and they were one of the highlights, and most impressive parts of the trip. Highly recommend this trip!

This tour was very enjoyable. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind, and had a good sense of humor. I was particularly impressed with his depth of knowledge about the city of Detroit, its history, people, and current state. I highly recommend this tour!

It started at the Coffee shop on Broadway Our tour guide was so full of the history and knowledge of Detroit it was so informative We really enjoyed this two hour Sunday morning tour. We got to learn and see and go on the people mover Plus visit Greektown and enjoy a pastry and the famous coney hot dog. See the river walk and view Canada across the Detroit River. The history in the city is so rich in culture It nice to see it getting rebuilt. All your sporting events are in one spot with hotels surrounding them. Great tour.

Don’t expect much out of this tour. You will be walking around the whole downtown, and that’s all what you will do. The guide is extremely boring, NOT informative, UN-exciting, and the guide cut corners.

Was not a good experience for us! We kept hearing about the irrelevant guide’s normal life, where he lives, his girlfriend, and where he works. We did not hear much about Detroit, which is what I wanted.
