We loved everything about the Special Frank Lloyd Wright tour. As an architectural historian, Laura provided full context to each site we visited, along with several interior images she has collected over the years. We highly recommend Architecture Tours LA and will be booking more tours on our next trip to LA. Thanks, Laura, for making our vacation so memorable!

We chose the downtown LA tour and found it an incredibly comfortable way to experience a maximum number of architecturally and historically significant sites in only 2 to 3 hours. The route is well planned for maximum site seeing and minimum travel with a safe and courteous driver. Laura, our guide has researched both the buildings and the architect and shares this information in a way that is interesting and entertaining for all. There may be a little trivia and quizzing as well! It feels more like a friendly conversation than commentary. I am certain there are no better tours with this much content in a relatively short time.

A really great way to see parts of the city that interest you. Los Angeles can be overwhelming but Laura's wealth of knowledge gives the tour a personal feel, and she puts the history of the city in context through beautiful and interesting architecture. You can choose what part of the city you'd like to see, or specific architects. If you have even a passing interest in architecture, it's worth checking out!

We liked Laura's architectural tour of the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles so much that we decided to book another tour with her on our next visit to LA. Our adult kids live in LA, and we all LOVED the in-depth Frank Lloyd Wright tour so much, I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually end up taking every tour on Laura's list. Anyone who is interested in local history, architecture, urban development and even the biographic information about the architects couldn't help but find this a revelation. Learned about hidden gems, a few of which our kids have driven by many times and never even realized were there! Laura's knowledge is encyclopedic; even the time we drive between the different highlights is used to full advantage thanks to her intelligent, clear, and entertaining narrative. Can't recommend Laura's tours more highly!

I have taken my mom on 3 tours with Laura and we can't wait to do all of them! Some we plan to do again. Laura has amazing knowledge and facts about Los Angeles and she imparts it in a casual, intelligent and interesting way. Her enthusiasm is infectious. You don't want her to stop talking!

The van is comfortable and we have taken a tour on a blistering hot day as well as a cool, sweater weather day and she manages to keep you comfortable. An added treat is the books she's written which are a nominal fee.

We are Los Angeles natives and we thought we had seen almost everything. Laura has opened a whole new world in our hometown.

I'm already a fan of architecture but I was hoping a tour would be a way that I could learn more--and I wasn't disappointed! Laura's knowledge of LA's architectural gems was absolutely worth the price of a tour, even though I'm a local. We covered some buildings I drive by all the time but now I know the stories behind them and it makes the neighborhood so much more exciting and deep. You also get bits of the city's history too because our buildings are often closely tied what's going on at the time.

One of the things I like about these tours is that they are in small groups so it's easy to see and ask questions. (And I have a lot of questions!) Laura's van is clean and she's a very safe driver.

I enjoyed these tours so much that I intend to go back and take more. It's a fun way to spend a day off. Overall, I would recommend these tours to both tourists and locals because there is a lot here for everyone.

If you are interested in LA history/architecture/culture (rather than the homes of the stars), look no further!

Laura (who holds a Master’s degree in Architectural History) worked with us to design a private 5-hour tour in downtown LA and West Hollywood, SPECIFICALLY curated to our interests - including the historic architecture of downtown LA and the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank Gehry.

Laura has a passion (and an almost encyclopedic knowledge) for the history/architecture of LA and environs.

From the Walt Disney Concert Hall (where she explained why I was suddenly a bit off balance…Gehry slants some walls ever so slightly to “enhance the experience”), Hollyhock House (COVID closed 😔) and private residences (Storer House, Ennis House, Lloyd Wright Jr. home).

And WOW! Laura hit it out of the park with the finale that tied our tour up with a bow. The innocuous Gemini G.E.L. Gallery and Studio, an early project of Gehry’s.

Thank you Laura!

My boyfriend and I went on the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture tour with Laura and were lucky enough to be the only two people in the van with her that morning! We got such a wealth of interesting information about Franks life and career but also the city of Los Angeles itself. It was the perfect way to spend our first full day in the city driving around all different areas and getting useful anecdotes from our wonderful guide which helped us understand the layout of the city for the rest of our trip. Laura is friendly, passionate and supremely knowledgeable about the city's history and its architecture and I would love to go on more of the tours available next time we are in LA. Thanks again!

I did the Hollywood Tour with Laura and it was amazing.
Laura showed us some of Frank Lloyd Wrights masterpieces and provided us with interesting information not just around the buildings but L.A. and Hollywood in general.
It makes a huge difference to be guided by a local who knows how to put things into historical context and also can explain recent developments.
The van was very comfortable and allowed perfect view as we drove through the Hollywood neighborhood.
I was able to get a ticket on short notice, Laura was very helpful and responded quickly!
Thank you Laura, I left LA very inspired! And smarter!

Four of us had a great time with Laura in our downtown tour. Covered a lot of ground in the 3 hours that went well beyond the architecture. We came away with a good sense of how the city developed over time from its origins in the downtown area. Fantastic tour.
