About Dearly Departed Tours and Artifact Museum
We're a light-hearted look at the Dark Side of Hollywood. Since 2004 Dearly Departed Tours has provided a 3 hour tour of the Deathstyles of the Rich and Famous. Mae West and Bela Lugosi, to Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, with a side of Hugh Grant and Chris Brown and Rihanna thrown in for good measure. "Creepy, Hilarious, but not for kids or the prissy." - Lonely Planet. Also available, The Helter Skelter Tour - based solely on the Manson Murders. Join Scott Michaels, the host of the documentary, The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter will unravel this bizarre time in American History. American Horror Story based their "Eternal Darkness Tour" on us and we've been featured on Ghost Adventures, Anthony Bourdain's The Layover, E! 20 Most Horrifying Hollywood Murders, Mysteries at the Museum and The Girls Next Door. In 2017 we opened our Artifact Museum which includes a piece of The Hindenburg, Rock Hudson's death bed, celeb prescription bottles and Jayne Mansfield's 1966 Buick death car.

If you’re into the subject matter the way I am this is a must during your visit. Owner, Scott lead our Helter Skelter tour. He greeted us and was warm and welcoming. The tour was full and we were packed onto a sprinter van. The...More

Being a Death Hag, this tour was literally the first thing I had booked within hours after our arrival to LA. I was super excited to finally take a Dearly Departed Tour but that excitement quickly dwindled when our tour guild Brian kept telling his...More

Highly recommend this tour for a fun afternoon exploring the dark and sometimes grisly history of death in LA. Our tour guide was fun, outgoing and engaging. She was very knowledgeable and her ability to drive and converse at the same time was masterful. We...More

My wife was excited about this tour as she is obsessed with true crime. She wasn't disappointed. If you are expecting a tour where you have lots of stops and get out and walk around, that is not this tour. Almost the entire tour is...More

Dearly Departed Tours is one of the absolute best tours covering Los Angeles. Yes, they offer a glimpse of the deathly side of Los Angeles, but with a mix of humor added and a huge amount of Hollywood trivia, you will leave this almost three-hour...More

Some enjoyable tidbits but the rather flippant commentary (comedy?) on violence, nearly all of which was against women, was a put off.

Very interesting. I live in LA and still learned a lot about my city’s history, not just the murders

The tour guide was very friendly, and its not his fault however you dont get to visit half of the places listed on the tour. The van they tour you in is too heavy and by law they cannot drive by many places you would...More

Hello Aaron. We take what we do very seriously, your review concerns me. What specifically was listed that you expected to see on the tour? Where did you see it? Some information out there is quite old and we constantly updating our route. We have...More

Lots of relics and momentos from past deaths, but the tour had more than expected, having driven by some celebrity homes and landmarks, and time spent in Westwood Village Memorial cemetery.
