We made Red Giant and Cannibal's Den our 136th and 137th and both are fun and highly recommended.
If you start off with these as examples of escape room sets you will be disappointed just about everywhere else you go. They put a lot of care and money into the development of immersive and beautiful sets. There is a lot of technology in each room and no standard combination locks.
Cannibal's Den story is that you are need to escape the lair of a serial killer who will be back - the team starts off separated but with the ability to communicate and interact with each other. We usually don't like the game mechanics that flow from this but this game designer has pulled it off. The puzzling requires intelligent and immersive interaction with the environment in an authentic way. There was one solution which was beautifully immersive but required prior knowledge that none of had...but they gave us a nudge and we continued on.
Red Giant - is an exploration of an ancient dig site in search of an artifact. The interactions are most immersive but we found it not quite as authentic as Cannibal's Den. But the set pieces are immense and fun to manipulate. Given the high bar they established there was one puzzle we were sure was going to react in a different way than it did - in the end we needed a hint as it was much simpler than we had thought.
Both of these rooms immerse in your environment and have you do things that would not be allowed in other rooms. This is what establishes Quest Rooms as the standard for immersive environments.
These rooms excel on the immersive role play factor.

I've been to many escape rooms in LA and Quest Room is by far the best without even a close second. I played the Bloody Elbow and Cannibal's Den and enjoyed both immensely. The themes range from spooky to serious, and the rooms have clever puzzles that require thinking and not merely looking for random numbers and very serious designs that make you feel a part of the adventure. Everyone I met there was amazing as well. I'm looking forward to going back for other rooms next time I'm in LA.

Book your time with the Perfumer and Red Giant immediately, then keep reading this review. These were around my 35th and 36th escape rooms and they are easily the best in the United States I've seen. Frankly, I think they've ruined me. (We did Questroom's Da Vinci's Challenge and a couple 60Out rooms after and they simply do not compare.) Both Red Giant and Perfumer feel like you have wandered on to active movie sets. The immersion factor in these two escape rooms cannot be beat. Both have several complicated rooms, state of the art technology, immersive sound systems, sophisticated lighting and great stories. I've never seen escape rooms that have such MASSIVE budgets. They are so much fun.
In terms of puzzles, I would say that perfumer is actually the easier of the two (but that's partly because they give you 90 minutes instead of only 60 for Red Giant). Red Giant has a few more traditional puzzles (but done much better than other rooms) where as Perfumer is more an adventure with tasks. Both have unique features that will have you speechless. I unequivocally recommend both, but beware that after you experience these virtually no escape room will compare.

Just tried out the Perfumer room and love how immersive all of Questroom's rooms are! This one is certainly thinking "outside the box" in terms of inventive new puzzles you've never seen before. I've done over 25 rooms and this one is definitely in my top 5. One of the coolest endings I've ever seen done before in a room as well.... the quality of Questroom is HIGH and ABOVE most other companies!

It was so much fun!! There were 4 of us and it took all of our brains and a few clues but we made it out. Ryan, our Game Master, gave us a good orientation before we started and congratulated us at the end!! I would definitely go again!

Red Giant rules! Kids loved it, too! A little spooky at one point, but nothing kiddos couldn’t handle.

Matt was my favorite part! He made our experience with the Red Giant so much better and we had a lot of fun!! I hope we can get him again the next time we come back. The Red Giant was a fun room in itself though, would definitely reccomend!

Matt was a great storyteller. Very fun storyline with very interactive and lively puzzles. More than just codes and locks.

This is easily the most immersive escape room I’ve ever played. The puzzles are great and the sets are head and shoulders above anything else.
