I signed up for one of their classes (tassels and pom-poms). I toured the museum before the class started. It's setup more like a gallery, featuring specific exhibits through out. I think I spent about 1.5 hours viewing all the floors. The class was fun,...More

This is a very small museum across from the La Brea Tar Pit. Check what the expo is. I’ve been to one great one - and one that didn’t hold my interest.

This is a good addition to the LA art scene. The various floors of the museum were consumed with variations of ceramic craft. Each floor is able to pull off an in-depth look at individuals or groups. There is also an outdoor use and exhibit...More

Although there is not too much to this small museum (one floor of art when we were there), it does offer an interesting view of the Latino culture in particular in LA. There are some outstanding pieces. And the outside of the building is fabulous.

The Craft and Folk Art Museum is a refuge from the main-stream commercialism of LACMA and the Peterson Auto museums, a return to art at it's base. Well curated exhibits highlight interesting themes, materials, and under-appreciated folk, craft and contemporary artists.

The museum doesn't have any parking but there are numerous lots within walking distance or you can park for free down many of the side streets for up to 2 hours.
