The BEST Spa in Downtown LA
Mar 2020
I am a loyal client at Desuar Spa. This place is so relaxing . Today I received the best sport deep tissue message ever by Javier. My muscles very extremely tight and Javier made me feel like a new person. I now feel great and I was very impressed with his experience.

Next I experienced non-painful waxing; it was incredible. Melissa M was very gentle and comforting. I also received a marine pore cleaning facial by Melissa M She is very experienced and amazing. With both services, she took her time and was very professional, and advised me at home skin care. Melissa M ROCKS !!!

Best Day Spa in Downtown
Dec 2019
I have been going to Desuar on/off for years - the basement space has such a great vibe. My recent facial with Dio and deep tissue massage with Andy were amazing! I am making this part of my regular routine now.

Unexpected Downtown Hideaway
Sep 2019 • Solo
I take a staycation once a quarter and choose downtown as my destination. Staying at a 4.5 star hotel I assumed there’s be a spa, there wasn’t! The staff didn’t have much insight so I took to the internet. Desuar had great reviews, affordable pricing and was near my hotel. I was able to make a last minute appointment and walk. (There was a farmers market and I was encouraged to walk or Uber to avoid difficulty parking). When I arrived the basement retreat was designed well, and quiet, immediate spa vibes.

I received a locker with a cushy robe and the relaxation began. My masseuse was amazing and knowledgeable. I chose to spend my time chatting about reiki and healing practices and she gave me a lot of insight. After the stellar Swedish I spent another hour in the spa-Dry sauna, steam shower and I brought a face mask that I enjoyed with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

I emerged refreshed and will definitely make this my DTLA hideaway. If you’re questioning it, don’t, just book it.

Thank you greatly for this review Madilynn, we value your opinion. DTLA can be very busy but even in the midst of the chaos you can find a serene little haven to relax and slow down time. Its great that you were assigned with a therapist that you connected with, it can definitely make the experience much more memorable. Whenever you're ready for your next staycation we'll be here ready to take away the stress. Check out the CBD soak on our menu, itll be the perfect finish after a massage to help sooth any aching, sore muscles. See you soon

Need to make this a regular therapy

80 minute massage is not something busy people often afford themselves, and it's not inexpensive but it's worth volumes for your health, mental health, sleep, etc. I was transformed yesterday. The spa is intimate, clean, and tranquil. I highly recommend for facials, too!

We appreciate the review. It is important for us that our clients know the health benefits that come with massage so it can become more of a priority. Like you mentioned, massage can be a little pricey but we see it more like a personal investment that highly pays off, even with a shorter length massage on certain tension areas can make a huge difference. We're glad you had a good stay with us and were able to see first hand the result of a nice self care day. Thank you, we hope to see you soon.

Best Massage I've ever had.
Jul 2019 • Solo
I had the most amazing experience at this Spa!!! From the moment you walk it, you feel the relaxed and healing atmosphere. Everything is very well decorated, relaxing lighting, soothing music and helpful staff. The facial was great and the massage was out of this world. Best massage I've ever had, hands down. I slept better than I have in 6 months. Highly recommend.

Recommended by the prestigious hotel where I was staying I was still surprised by the knowledge and professionalism of masseur Andy who addressed my sore shoulders ( lugging heavy suitcases ) and sore jaw ( from dental visit ). I walked out feeling great but day two might even be feeling better !!!
Thank you kindly.

Extremely disappointed
Apr 2019 • Solo
Disappointed. I paid $120 for a "deep tissue" massage and the person did not know how to do deep tissue. I politedly asked for firmer pressure 2 minutes into the massage, and he said he was "warming up." After another 10 minutes of "swedish style" pressure the pressure did not increase and I politely asked again for an increase in pressure, which still did not happen. I asked a third time and eventually gave up as someone who does not know how to do deep tissue should not be offering "deep tissue" massage as that can be dangerous. I would not have written this review if the spa had responded to my personal response to their request for feedback. No one every responded to my direct response to them and they kept asking for "good reviews." The spa facilitiy itself was not great either. The sauna did not work/was not on, and the building is in a sketchy part of town. I will not be returning and wish they would have reached out directly for me to relay this feedback, but since they were insistant in their emails to post my review, I decided to oblige them.
