We stayed in the area and Vine Street and surprised by the run down condition of the area. We felt uncomfortable going out at night due to the amount of “street people “ hanging around harassing passerby people demanding money or screaming at us

For 80 years the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street has basked in a mystique. These days it's the centerpiece of Los Angeles' most ambitious redevelopment effort. That kind of combination has been a staple at the corner since 1903 when a sunny lemon...More

Dirty and tired not how I remember Hollywood back 20years ago. Lots of homeless roaming the streets shouting and intimidating people. Not a great way to welcome tourists to your country

This is the famous corner that made Hollywood famous in songs. It is where, fittingly, the Walk of Fame starts. It's where the famous Patages Theater still sits. Not much anymore then a piece of history

As a promotion to the upcoming movie, Ready Player One, they came up with a fun challenge. It’s just a maze you walk through finding three keys to save the Oasis. It was a fun event with great picture opportunities. It was for the weekend...More

We went to this Intersection because while growing up, we always heard about it, but I expect today's young people have no clue what it even was. It seemed nothing more than just a regular intersection, although it did mark the start of the "Walk...More

This is where it all began. First of all, yes, Hollywood & Vine is an intersection and a very busy intersection at that. But, this is where it all started...the Pantages theatre is here, old time movie stars and true celebrities like Cary Grant, Clark...More

Iconic place. 20 years ago I might have said avoid this area and run the other way. It has vastly improved with hotels and shops. It is still possible to look down Hollywood Boulevard and visualize its heydays. Check out the art work in the...More

Akamaikai gets it right, it may have been relevant many years ago but today there is little of interest - I hadn't been here for years so it was more curiosity that brought me here. Other than the nearby "stars" on the footpath , it...More

Hollywood and Vine is an intersection. I don't care that 70 years ago a star was discovered crossing the street, that Hollywood doesn't exist any more. Now you have a busy intersection with no shops or restaurants of interest to speak of, and why anyone...More

Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie
stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day,
tourists flock here from around the world to see the
iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to
catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close.
Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas
the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and
hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night

made a dining mistake ...help (9 Replies)
In looking at our choices- I picked Hollywood and Vine for lunch. Pretty positive none of us wants to deal with preschool characters....so is there a great choice you recommend? I was hoping to see at least most of the characters via meals- so if it would quick to hop over to another place for lunch then go back..if need be, that would be fine. Thank you! 16 hours till we leave!!!!!!!!!!!

Whispering Canyon or Prime Time Cafe? (16 Replies)
I need some advice. I have ressies at Prime Time Cafe. It's a dinner slot, but I may have to cancel them to make room for the Wishes Dessert Party. My question is: Should I try to reschedule for Prime Time or should I shoot for Whispering Canyon instead? Also, while I'm asking dining questions, I have reservations for the Mama Melrose Fantasmic dining pkg. But after perusing the menu, I'm not too sure we could all find something we like there. Should I try to change it to Hollywood and...More

Oooh, tough one. If price is a factor, go with 50's Prime Time. Other than that...? They're both my favorites, and they both have great interaction with the guests. If I had to pick just one, I think I'd go with Whispering Canyon. With the ages of your children, I believe they would have more fun at WC. Or better yet, I'd cancel the dessert party and go to both restaurants!

Hi all, so today we had no booked meals until 5.10pm so a relaxed wake up for us again, even if the girls thought that was at 5.30am!!!! By 5.45 they wanted their fancy dresses on, so be it, so the hubby and I watched them play "Anna and Elsa" until around 7 while watching tv b4 we started to get up!! Breakfast from QS in hotel again, desperately trying to use our QS credits!! 2 bounty plates for us but both girls just wanted cereal. The garden grocer delivery was well worth it even...More

I think that must be how Disney don't lose money on the "free" dining plan !!!!! People often say how many credits they have left but I think you have won!!!!! Hope you enjoy the last day and have a good flight home.
