I have used hop on off buses all around the world but I believe my experience in Los Angeles will mean I won’t use them again. Probably my biggest concern has been with the connections between different routes. It would surely not be difficult to...More

Came to LA not understanding anything and we happened upon Starline Tours. We chose the Celebrity Homes Tour and was hosted by George “Clooney”! The tour was excellent but have to say George made the whole experience fantastic! Very highly recommended!

I did the hop on hop off bus for the second time. I used the transfer and tour to help me get to and from The Grove and my hotel in Anaheim. The workers are always friendly and the tour is fun and informative

Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie
stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day,
tourists flock here from around the world to see the
iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to
catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close.
Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas
the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and
hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night

Embassy Suites South El Segundo (4 Replies)
We are traveling in August and would like to use the hop on hop off bus from Starline Tours. Will this be ok from this hotel? Also, is the hotel nice and clean? We are 4 adults and 1 16 year old. Do you think I suite will be big enough. Any info. on how far Rodeo Dr. is and the best way to get there?

Are you going to have a car while here? The Embassy Suites in El Segundo is a good choice among the airport hotels. Having said that, unless you are only here for one night and have an early morning flight, the airport hotels in general are not good choices - the airport is not too central and there's not a lot of dining options or walking around at night things to do. If you can share your per night hotel budget with us we might be able to recommend a better located hotel for you. ...More
Tour from Los Angeles to Grand Canyon with Starline Tours (5 Replies)
Has anyone done the 4 day tour with Starline tours from Los Angeles to Grand Canyon (via Las Vegas). Cannot find any reviews. Want to make sure customers were happy with this tour and that they had a decent amount of time at the South Rim. This was the only tour I could find that didn't visit a chocolate factory, clothing outlets and cactus gardens enroute!

Already answered in your GC thread. In that 4 days tour you also won't stay at the rim but have a free day in....Las Vegas.

Touring the stars' homes in Beverly Hills (2 Replies)
Any advice on the best way see the stars' homes in Beverly Hills? Internet is full of sites for guided tours in buses, etc., whle Frommers guide mentions Starline Tours. Is there a particular tour that is considered better than the others? Or do tourists buy $5 maps from the corner and drive around on their own? (This sounds like a less credible option.) We have no illusion of seeing any movie stars, but our kids (and my wife) would like to see where they live (and lived.) Thanks.

The "stars" who live there today are pretty much behind fortresses, to keep from having their pictures taken all day....so in my opinion the best bet is to use a guidebook/ map and do it yourself. The neighborhoods in Beverly Hills & Bel Air are pretty driver/lurker friendly and you can take all the time you want to get out on the sidewalk and take pictures. Mostly you'll just be seeing where Lucy used to live, where Cher used to live, where Madonna once rented etc, but it is still...More
