Nice people, nice wine, great outdoor area
May 2021
A women-owned business that has created an array of tasty Grenache’s and other varietals. But Grenache is currently the craze in Santa Barbara and Santa Yanez wine country, so we did a full flight of those and their Pinot. Reservations are required to be sure you get in as this place is popular. Our party of four loved the tasting area setting outside, as well as the service. We found the wines we tasted – a flight of 6 for $30 a person (unless you by 3 bottles – remember when tastings were free?!) – to be overall very good. A nice little gift shop inside as well, this place is a standout in Los Alamos.

Still one of the nicest wineries in California
Nov 2019 • Couples
You can't please everyone, as a recent review shows. Not sure where that one reviewer lives, but every winery we've ever been to had a set list. In any event, this is still a wonderful place to visit. The menu is now dim sum, which was a new experience for us. We went with three things that seemed "safe" and enjoyed them. The wines are still wonderful and this is one club we will keep.

We stopped in based on the 5 star reviews. Tastings are $20 each, no discount for 3. We walked in and told the lady, 3 tastings. She started pouring without asking our preference. I’ve never been to a winery where we didn’t get to choose the wines we wanted. I asked and she said she picks them, hmmm. A white was first then a cider. Both very unpleasant . Had to dump the cider. I then told her we really
Like to drink reds. She poured reds next. They were definitely not as great as everyone mentioned on here. Makes me wonder who is reviewing. 5 tastings total. This should be a $15 tasting winery, not $20. Bottles are $36-$45. I wasn’t impressed.

The Experience!
May 2019 • Couples
We stopped in this wonderful place several years ago, late one Summer afternoon, on the way home from a vacation to visit family in Eureka. We had gotten dinner (well, late lunch, really: great sandwiches!) at the Collins Market, and a little wine to finish it off seemed like a nice idea. We walked in, and were greeted very warmly, and after a flight with some excellent commentary, we decided to join their Club. And we've been happy to continue being Club Members, as the wines just keep getting better, the service never stops being the best, and Sonja! When the owner/winemaker also is one of the servers, how can you go wrong? She infuses the place with energy, but is never over the top. She remembers her regulars, and makes us feel like part of a family. Yeah, that's trite, but it is also true at Casa Dumetz. Everyone else just seems to feed off her vibrancy and friendliness. There is a craft beer place next door with a doorway between, and a picnic area outside. There is a small menu of some truly marvelous food: the tacos are great! So, if beer or cider is more your thing, you'll do just fine. We always enjoy ourselves here, possibly more than any of our other wine clubs.

Yes, this is a place that you want visit if you are passing through or visiting Los Alamos. Casa Dumetz Wines is incredible they specialize in Grenache type wines but they also have Syrah, GSM, Mouvadre and many more. The wine host is the best of the best she knew her stuff and also gave us some great food recommendations. The owner/winemaker Sonja was there and gave us in an site of how she makes her wines. Please if you have the opportunity join there wine club and stop bye. Enjoy a meal or a glass of wine.

Excellent wine and fair prices

This winery may be small, but the wines are big, beautiful creations. The winemaker, Sonja, is a kick and is making truly wonderful wines and a nice price point.

Excellent tacos!

We stumbled upon Los Alamos because we needed gas. The town is adorable! Casa Dumetz had great food. I had the pork belly, tri tip, and salmon (a special) tacos. They were all delicious! This was a great road trip stop.

Wine tasting
Jun 2017 • Couples
This was my first wine tasting. I was guided through the wines by a lovely, friendly and knowledgeable lady. I bought a bottle of Pinot Noir. I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack at the price (LOL!) so I'm going to save it for a very special occasion (possibly the Second Coming).
