Spa mani/pedi on the patio during Covid!
Jul 2020
I was so excited to be back at Bliss and have my mani/pedi on the patio during Covid! I have been to Bliss many times. The staff and service are exceptional! Bliss is my favorite spa in Long Beach!

Great experience at this nail salon/spa!

I don't know what you would call this place. Nail shop? Yes, but a classy one where the nail technicians wear darling blue smocks and the inside is like the cutest boutique playing rat-pack music in the background. Spa? Yes, definitely. The massage therapists are wonderful and the facials are top-notch. Nestled in the heart of darling Belmont Heights in Long Beach, this place is a throw-back to a time when you walked into your neighborhood beauty salon and you felt at home while getting pampered. Nice people. The new owner is warm and friendly and the staff is very welcoming!

Lasting Gel's and Good Pedicure
Feb 2017 • Solo
I have been to Bliss on Broadway many, many times. I find them very professional and excellent treatment in almost every case. My personal manicurist is Ivy and she is fabulous. She does both my pedicure and gels and while it takes longer than many comparable shops, it is well worth it as I receive outstanding treatments. I have a couple of homes so I go to other places and they really cannot compare to Bliss on Broadway. I have found that you must tell people what you want; I want my toenails cut as short as possible, others may not like that, I like oval shape, others like square, but you have to communicate your desires and make sure you are understood. It is under new management, so it may take a bit for the new manager to understand making adjustments for services which are not perfectly acceptable to the client. I have never been disappointed. .

Awful experience
Aug 2015 • Solo
I recently visited Long Beach in Cali and have decided to treat myself with spa meni/pedi while there. I chose this place based on the reviews and instead of having a zen experience I ended up very disappointed.

Starting with the pros, this place is very clean and the girls at the desk were polite and welcoming. Also, my spa meni was good and my meni technician (I believe her name is Akiko) was very sweet.

Cons:

1. Nail polish selection was limited.
2. There was a dog running around the spa.
3. The lady who did my pedi is inexperienced and she did an awful job cutting my nails too short and on top of that she gave my nails a crooked shape, which I realized once she started painting my nails. I immediately asked her to stop and a girl from the front desk came and offer someone else to fix the damage. Another technician tried to fix it, but there wasn't much she could do since the first one cut my nails too short (message me for the pictures).

I spoke to the manager while I was paying for the service and told her that I believe I shouldn't be charged for the pedicure. The manager responded something along the line that if I enjoyed massage or scrub I should pay at least 50% (for the record there wasn't a massage since all the technician did was petting my legs, which I would let slide if were not for such bad job of cutting my nails). Then I told the manager that proper nail cutting is the crucial part of the pedicure and that the rest of the experience was stressful and 'ok' at best, she responded with a personal insults mentioning that I should have left the salon if I didn't like the pedicure (for the record, the other technician was doing manicure in the same time so I couldn't leave, but I did tell the pedicure technician to stop as soon as I realize her mistake). Though I fully paid for the service +tips, she gave back $10 in cash.

I have never experienced such rude treatment and I left place shocked. Needless to say I won't be coming back.
