The shoreline village has a movie set feel about it. The marina is a nice back drop but I would only recommend going to the area with intention to eat at one of the restaurants and/or in summer. It’s pretty exposed and cold in the...More

I was expecting the shopping center to have more stores and restaurants. However, there were several restaurants that were enticing us with their smells of steak, seafood and barbecue. This is situated on the wharf so you can see many boats ⛵. You can even...More

A few shops and eateries that are quite average. The biggest draw here is renting a family size bike or scooter for a cruise around the harbor. Nice place to take a pic of the Queen Mary from afar. Be sure to validate parking as...More

I know you can rent bikes at Shoreline Village, just wondering if there is a rental site near the pier in Belmont Shore.

Family friendly day trips (9 Replies)
I love the advice I've been getting on these boards, thanks to everyone who has responded to my posts. I'll be staying in Anaheim at the end of August for a week. We have 3 day hoppers for Disneyland, and I'll also be running the 5k on 9/2. We also have tickets to Knottsberry farm and Aquarium of the Pacific. We're trying to figure out how to make the best of the rest of our vacation. I believe a day in Santa Monica looks good. Should we visit the aquarium in the morning or afternoon, and...More

All attractions seem to be the least busy in the morning at opening and for awhile after. So I would say visit the Aquarium of the Pacific then. Shoreline Village would be a nice relaxing thing to do afterwards. But do keep in mind that the historic ocean liner the Queen Mary is close to the Aquarium of the Pacific and there usually is a combo ticket for both offered. Once on board the Queen, besides touring the ship, you might like to have lunch at the Promonade Cafe. That restaurant has...More

What is in the Shoreline Village Mall? (3 Replies)
We are staying at Sandpiper Cove and I'm trying to get an idea of what is in walking distance. On google maps I see that we're right next to the Shoreline Village Mall but I can't tell what is there. Are there any restaurants or good things to see there?

Very little. It's a shame, because at one time this was a rather nice little resort shopping center, but most of the shops have gone out of business because bigger, fancier places such as Destin Commons have opened up. My sister, who is a hard-core shopper, used to always go to the Shoreline Mall, and she doesn't even stop there anymore. There is still a restaurant called the "Lighthouse" there, but I have never eaten there.
