Great beach; watch out for tar!

Nice beach. It's a State Park, so bring $ for the entrance fee. They do offer a free 15-minute pass, which is nice. It's cool that there's a camp-ground too. Lots of happy people... read more

welcome to southern California where everything costs more than it should. nice beach, long drive on curvy winding roads. Santa Barbara county park. nothing even remotely close. one crowded store. some cabins, mostly RV spots and day camping. windsurfing is good because there is 40 knots of wind all the time.

Nice beach. It's a State Park, so bring $ for the entrance fee. They do offer a free 15-minute pass, which is nice. It's cool that there's a camp-ground too. Lots of happy people, puppies, and kids (and some drunk people). We didn't stay long (got the visitor pass) because it was CRAZY windy...which equals lots of kite-boarders! Very cool... More

A delightful 14 mile winding bucolic drive from Rt. 1 ends at Jalama Beach where there is a camping ground and a general store and restaurant. The hike goes south to Point Conception, a 10-mile round trip that should take 3 1/2 to 4 hours. If you're intending on doing the whole hike it involves some scrambles over rocks and... More

One of my favorite beaches - it's a beautiful drive to get to it - you can enjoy long walks and the Jalama burgers at the beach are the best .

Great place to find what California looked like before it was settled. Best burgers anywhere and the tiny store has pretty much anything you forgot. Great place to watch whales in the winter nut it will get windy. RV spots are tight and good for 26 foot or less and easier if you have a 5th wheel. Beach spots are... More

I have camped here but many many years ago...For those of you who camped at Jalama Beach can you tell me more about the parking situation? I have reservations for August 2016. The reservation mentions only 2 cars per site. I know it's a long, winding road about 12-14 miles to the campground. We are most likely going to have... More

The drive is long and windy, but eventually you turn a bend and get a breathtaking view of the ocean and cliffs. Just a short walk either direction takes you to rocks, shells, and tide pools. Dunes separate the parking and camping zones from the beach. You do have to pay for parking, but you can get in free if... More

This beach is definitely off the 101 but worth the effort it takes to get out to it. Be very patient and careful with the road out for it is not made for any speed. It is a popular destination and the parking lot was very full. If you eat at the restaurant make sure to get your entry ticket... More

This beach is good for day adventures with the ocean, beach combing or camping. Very busy for camping and reservations are required. Gets windy, so be prepared. Also be prepared for raids on your food by raccoon at night. Great water and walking the beach.

The beach was nice, and pretty quiet and is mostly intended only if you are planning to camp there. However, the road to get the this beach is horrible and made the trip less enjoyable. While the beach was nice, I am not sure the drive was worth it.
