Great campground! They have full RV hook-ups, partial-hookups (water and electric, but have a dump station), and tent camping sites. Some sites have city views, and you pay a premium for lake views, but prices are still pretty decent. You do have to drive to the boat rental area.

Bathrooms were clean and well maintained, but dated. There are showers. The playground was currently closed still due to COVID. Lots of great trails you can start from the campground. Tent sites are a bit more on top of one another. I felt the RV sites were roomy.

No swimming in the lake, and no dogs in the water. Keep that in mind. It can get pretty hot during summer months. The campground itself was pretty dog friendly. There are coyotes that can come into the campground (and I did see one), so keep dogs inside at night, and an eye on small dogs at all times, and don't leave food out.

There is a group campsite if someone needs it, though call and ask about current COVID protocols. Dogs cost $1 per night.

Well maintained campground with beautiful views and friendly staff. We have been here for three days and asked to stay an additional night as there are many open sites - very disappointed that they require booking both Friday and Saturday nights together - no exceptions. We will choose other campgrounds in the future for this reason.

The staff here is great! Knowledgeable, friendly and there always seem to be someone around. A special shout out to Kip. It seemed like nothing was going right fir us (motor home rental fell through) but at least we could have a family campfire. We had no matches or kindling. Kip came through with a lighter, kindling and newspaper and saved our entire evening. He went above and beyond.
Camp spot was clean and prepared, rest rooms were clean and tended often.

I don't mind paying a Reservation Fee online, I don't mind mailing in a Reservation Fee. But, to pay an 8 dollar reservation fee at the kiosk while paying cash? Really? One night camping in the cheapest spot came to 48 dollars. Completely overrated and overpriced. Noisy too. Airplanes flew overhead all day. We won't be back to Lake Jennings. But, it is very clean, good views of the Lake if you pay for a View site. I guess it's okay for families with kids since there's a very nice playground. Oh, and if you want to fish, there's a ten dollar fishing fee.

My husband and I tent camped on site 81 I think. We had a view of the city, We were not impressed with the campground at all. Bathrooms were not in great shape, even for a campground. At night, there were roaches at many if not all of the sites on that side of the campground. I saw one cayote. The lake was nice.

We are local to San Diego and had never visited Lake Jennings before and thought we should take a look and see if it would be a nice place to come back to for camping or picnicking. First we drove up to the camping area, where we were greeted by a nice woman who welcomed us and allowed us to drive through and take a look. She even gave us a map of the spaces which we used to mark spaces we though we would like to stay in. After that we drove to the other side of the lake where they have the boat ramp and a separate road to access the picnic areas spotted around the lake. There is a sign posted saying the day USE fee is $2 per person. Since we were not staying, only driving through quickly to get a feel for the place (and it was almost dark) we figured we would be able to do so without paying the fee (as we did on the camping side). The picnic sites are more than rustic. They are literally in the 2 foot tall weeds with signs all over warning about snakes. Many of the wooden tables were broken and warped. Lovely! If you need a bathroom there is a lonely port-a-potty way out there (probably home to said snakes). We got about half way around that side of the lake and stopped at a pullout to get a lay of the land, when a male ranger pulled up behind us quite fast. Apparently he had been "chasing" us since we "blew past the bait shop" (we had actually stopped at the bait shop to look and see were things were before slowly driving down the road). He treated us like criminals and was very rude. We explained we were just driving through to see if this was an appropriate place to come back to at a later date and he said it was an "admittance fee" NOT a use fee. Instead of arguing we told him we would just leave... AND NEVER COME BACK. I guess they are so poor they don't do maintenance on the property and accost anyone who tries to "look at nature without paying". What a joke. I suggest never going there with your family. Maybe when people stop coming they will learn to treat people with more courtesy.

We are tent campers that have been camping here for the last 3 years about 4 times during the summers. It is a great park with hook-ups for tents(we get those!) , full hook-ups for motor homes and non hook-up sites for those real primitive campers out there!
It is kept very clean by the rangers and they do their best to keep those annoying loud campers quiet and we have seen them kick out a lot of them who don't respect the rules as well. It is a very comforting feeling knowing they are there on site 24/7 and give you a number to call anytime you have a problem. We have used them when a drunk, drugged man was ranting with his music turned up so loud you could hear it miles away after midnight. They even came down the next morning apologizing for the inconvenience and thanking us for bringing it to their attention. The next day wouldn't do any good so they were thankful. We have camped where there were 17 year old rangers who were afraid to tell people to be quiet way after quiet hours or who were nonexistent.
The restrooms are kept clean providing nice showers. There is a nice playground area that is shaded for your little ones too.
For a daily fee you can bring your dog, you just have to keep them leashed as expected.
There is a lake there, you can rent paddle and motor boats to cruise around in or to fish in but there is no recreational use such as swimming or water sports.
It is quiet and gives you that feeling of being far away but if you forget anything, Von's, Walmart, Starbucks and other fast food is 5 minutes away! Enjoy!
