Visit the Niguel Botanical Preserve while you're there
Nov 2018 • Solo
The Niguel Botantical Preserve is absolutely amazing. A great place for the whole family to enjoy and explore. I spent an hour enjoying the gardens and trails. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the views. Spectacular!

It has many new things including a large amphitheater, water park, 2 new parking lots etc. Friday night music is great. Kids love the parks many attractions. Best of all- it is free.

wonderful place for family time
Jul 2017 • Family
This is a beautiful place to spend time with your family. There are natural trails to explore the flora and fauna, a water park for the little ones to splash, play, and help a few others get wet. Two playgrounds near each other so you can keep track of younger and older kiddos, clean bathrooms, I can go on and on.
They also have music in the park during the summer months. They have beautiful terraced grass to bring your lounge chairs, a dance floor and very enjoyable music to enjoy while you eat your own meal or buy from one of the food trucks.

Great community park and pool
Sep 2016 • Couples
wonderful public pool and for swim teams. New children's park is wonderful just should have had something over the play equipment too hot to use in the summer. New trails great for walks and concert area. One problem the bathrooms by the children park have no sinks to wash hands or wipe off, but have drinking fountains outside the door, poor hygien as people are using that to wash their hands. no dispensors for diapers, personal hygiene items also. Somebody was not thinking on this. Otherwise a great park and recreation area

Been there many times. Great Park! Accessible. Beautiful. Super YMCA gym and pool. Great splash park for the grand-kids. Beautiful nature trail. Great venue for concerts. The government of Laguna Niguel deserves kudos for the jo they do managing this park (and everything else they do!)

A hidden gem

This place is really nice. The walk through the botanical garden is very pleasant. Lots of interesting plants and great views . Well worth doing. Some steepish paths but nothing too difficult. Very quiet when I was there. The folk in the parks and rec offices are really helpful

A great job renovating!
Jul 2016 • Couples
What I really like about this park is that it invites you to explore. Have kids? You have your choice of a brand new "kids" water park (no rides but lots of water to play in). Like music? Sit on the hillside of the newly renovates outdoor amphitheater in the summer and listen to free bands while picnicking and sipping on a cold beverage. Like to be scared? Visit the Haunted Trails with volunteers from throughout the local community. Like to swim or dive? Visit on open swim days. Like sports? The scoccer fields are in use all year round! Like pancakes? Pancake breakfasts happen a couple of time a year. Like gardening? There are community gardens.... What a well utilized space and park. Large oaks provide lots of shade and there are BBQ grills and picnic tables all around.

new facilities
May 2016 • Couples
The new water park and play ground is outstanding for all ages. The new amphitheater has concerts during the summer which is very popular. Unfortunately they began allowing alcohol which with all the kids we saw attending sets a poor example. The botanical preserve is very popular to walk and exercise the dogs. We did spot 2 great examples of youth involvement at the Boy Scout built Trail to Eagle trail and the Girl Scout Canyon. I don't think any other City has these.
