My wife and I were down in the San Diego area when I discovered this wonderful community theater in La Mesa through the Goldstar on-line discount service for live performance events. We saw an excellent performance of the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Crimes of the Heart" in this intimate 69-seat venue tucked way in a mall. The set design, direction, music and acting was really quite good. My wife and I love to support good community theater, especially up in the Pasadena area where we live, as you get to meet the actors afterwards and congratulate them on putting their heart into a show.

This company puts on about six different plays per year and we will definitely catch them the next time we are in town.

Bravo!

Cute very small venue in odd spot in La Mesa. Didn't even know it existed even though I grew up in the area. Good performance and friendly staff.

This small theater is great for an intimate experience. Shows are always top notch! Can't beat the value. Great date night option.

We have attended several plays here. Some are great, some wonderful, some just entertaining. The cost is really cheap, can't beat it for a night or Sunday afternoon out, supporting community theater.

Lamplighters is one of the best small community theaters in the San Diego area. We drive over a half our to see their plays since we enjoy them so much. They do a great job of selecting plays that are not the usual fare.

Went with 2 friends to see The Dixie Swim Club performances on 7/31. Figured this would be auditorium style seating with folding hard chairs. Also thought the entertainment would leave much to be desired. I was so surprised to find comfortable chairs and a real class act performance. The theater is small but it was packed. The actors were well rehearsed and seemed very professional. One tip....if you are tall, ask for an aisle seat to have more leg room. This is a great place for inexpensive entertainment. I will definitely go again.

We've attended several productions from this theater group and are pleased with the quality provided. The acting is good, the production selection is always pretty "family friendly" and the ticket price is decent. My only complaint is that the seats aren't the most comfortable - I'm short and they're a little "low". Other than that, a fun night out.
