This was a beautiful place on the top of a hill with a huge amphitheater, a large Cross, informational placards about wildlife, and pretty landscaped small gardens. We came on a sunny and clear day and the unobstructed 360- degree views were spectacular from every angle. We were even able to see all the way to the ocean. It was very quite deserted up there on a week day, so it was nice to get away from the hustle and the bustle of the city, and enjoy some peace and quiet. If you are looking for some tranquility amid a calm atmosphere plus get a little exercise, this would be the place for that. The fragrant flowers complete the ambiance. The only problem is the very limited parking – only about 8 or 10 spaces. People park down the winding path on the side of the road. If you see stopped cars, just grab a spot and walk the rest of the way. It is certainly a “Must See” place for a tourist, as well as a local.

When in San Diego you can get to Mount Helix in 15 unites from anywhere. When you arrive there is 30 minute parking (its not a big place). They have an amphitheater made of stone and a cross at the very top. The view is fantastic, from Mexico to the Mountains to the Beach. There is some history here also where it was given to the city back in 1925 by a local who just wanted to share it's magnificence. Be ready to take some pictures. I think they have sunrise services here on Easter. This is a must visit. Do it before going to the Zoo or Balboa Park.

A nice place to visit and relax with the panoramic views. Very small parking lot but not crowded during the week. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Definitely a nice place to view.
