We went here on the recommendation from someone at the hotel. It did not disappoint, the sunset was beautiful, the place is very clean and not overcrowded so you can take as many pictures as you'd like without people in your background.
This gliderport offers the best, clearest ocean view. The dirt parking area is really rough right now after the rains, but it is a favorite place to chill out and enjoy the sunset. Very peaceful. Friendly people.
but you won't feel it till it grows with the uplifting breeze - uplifting in every sense of the word then experience the real California Soarin' as tandem paragliding takes you over the cliffs, into the fresh air sky above the sparkling Pacific and topless...More
So much fun to sit and watch the gliders take off and land on a beautiful day! My husband and I sat for an hour and enjoyed the coastline and watching the skilled gliders with their beautiful equipment soar over the edge of California!
Simply the most beautiful sunset in San Diego. It’s easy to get there, full of parking and a very good spot for a picnic in the end of the day. Bring a coat with you - it can be cold after the sun goes down.
This is my favorite place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Get a great takout breakfast at the seaside restaurant and grab a cup of coffee and pick your favorite bench to watch the multi-colored hang-gliders coast the rim above the blue sea.

Some might, I sure didn't! It was very quiet and peaceful! That said, if you have any fear of heights I'd opt out. Pacific Ocean is 350 feet from where you take off and you're sail much, much higher than that!
