This is the perfect picturesque scene for a beautiful wedding. Set down into the cliff with a backdrop of both the ocean water with beaches and the cliffs the pictures at sunset are amazing.
Tip: If you are going to be late, watch the wedding from up top. Otherwise the way the stairs are situated you will have to walk past the wedding party to get to your seat.

A phenomenal place to watch the sunset. Just grab your beach chair and some "to go" food and you will have a great experience. Nothing like listening to the waves, watching the sunset, maybe see a green flash. One of the last times I was there we were treated to the dolphins jumping and playing.

Went to my sister’s wedding at Cuvier Park - Wedding Bowl. Was such a beautiful day and wedding. The backdrop of the Pacific Ocean was amazing. The whole thing was wonderful. Love, Love, Love

This is quintessential Southern California rocky coastline. Craggy rock encrusted cliffs hitting the sea with sandy beaches tucked into the coves. Just breathtaking scenery and views, and to my mind, a 'must see' when in La Jolla.

I stayed directly across the street from The Wedding Bowl at the Scripps Inn. My room looked out over the street and the park. Exceptional view and loved the many holdiay weddings

There soo much to do in this cove! Picnic, surf, snorkel or just admire the landscape! It’s very busy though!

This is an amazing beach, especially at low tide! We had a picnic at one of the tables- watch out for the seagulls!

A perfect place for a small wedding with the fantastic background of the beaches and Pacific Ocean. It can hold about 100-120 in a small grassy area tucked between two local beaches. Lots of interested people can look down at your wedding as they are walking around. Parking is a little tight as you are competing with the sun worshippers. Great views all around. You have to walk down about 25 steps or go around the side to get to the grassy area. Can be a tad hot when there is no wind. But the view.....

Forget the weddings (tho they are entertaining with all the glitz), this is along a great walk along the coast from the children's pool to la jolla cove. Benches to rest and lawn as well - if you can find space!

A more secluded beach area than LJ Shores or Windansea. Smaller, yet very nice... just watch the tides. The grassy area above is really nice also and there's a great coastal walkway that provides strolling options as well. Parking can be challenging so just pack some extra patience!

We have a permit for the park for our wedding but it says first come first serve. But I was also told that only one permit is issued per day for the park. In the event someone shows up before us and tries to set up for their own wedding, what do we do?

Is the grass greener at the end of April? I’m considering a wedding ceremony here and noticed that it’s more on the yellow side at times. Just not sure when.

Is it typical to be able to smell that seal smell in this area of La Jolla? Considering holding a wedding here, but worried about the possible stench.
Written August 28, 2019
The smell of seals is farther up, north of the lifeguard station. I have never noticed any bad smells at the wedding bowl. Hope this helps and congratulations!🎉

Parks & rec say it's a 40 guest max but I have seen pictures of weddings there that seem to be double that in size. How strict is the capacity limitation of 40...and does that include the wedding party?
Written August 27, 2017
I don'r know about fines, etc. but the wedding I attended probably had more than 40. I think there's room for more than 40 chairs (20 on each side)
If you had rows of 10 chairs per side of an aisle, I would think you could fit four rows, so 80 total. I'm sure they don't want people to put so many people in that they get near the edge.
It's a very lovely setting. Remind people not to wear stilettos though!! Grass-friendly heels are a must!
