We went on the sea caves tour and had an amazing time! Our tour guides Carston and Josh were energetic and friendly and made many terrible (but awesome) tour guide jokes. We were very fortunate to be able to get into the sea caves right before they closed them due to the swell. We also got pretty close to some sunbathing sea lions and saw some fish as we floated over the reef. I want to emphasize again that our guides were amazing! They took some photos of us, were very knowledgeable and helpful and all of us had an amazing time, we even saw some dolphins that came right next to the kayaks (even though they don’t usually see them out there)! Our whole family (ages 11-51) had an awesome town and although my sister and I wiped out in the kayak on the way back even that was fun! Prepare to get a bit wet because you launch into the surf and will get wet!

Thanks again to our guides! You guys are amazing :)

Had a great kayak adventure with Hike Bike Kayak San Diego. Hunter was our guide and he was very knowledgable about the local wildlife. I learned some cool facts about sea lions vs seals and the local birds. Would definitely use this company again.

Father and son trip to La Jolla and decided to do kayak and snorkel tour. We got Matt as our tour guide. He was great. He told us kooky stories and korny jokes and we loved every minute of it. He took us over to the caves and it was awesome. We saw the sea lions, the caves and a shark. The water was crystal clear and cold. Wetsuits were a big plus. The whole trip was about 2 hrs. You'll love it. Don't forget to ask for Matt.

This is the best way to see La Jolla by land! From the top of Mt. Solidad all the way down you get several stops for Pictures along the way and the guys who run this are accommodating, friendly and extremely professional. We originally booked for the afternoon on day two of our trip and we were able to change it to the morning of day four without any issues.
I would suggest taking the morning tour as the air is still crisp. Their Kayak and snorkeling tours are great too.

This will be the first negative review I have given and it is with the intent that the tour guide will take a minute to review how is he tour is advertised. Cameron spent a majority of our tour in residential neighborhoods telling us all about how many famous people he knows, how rich they are, how rich and poor HE has been and all the parties he has attended. He repeatedly told us that ‘no one knows more about La Jolla than he does’, but the. Wanted to tell us stories about his mom selling fake handbags and that he know inside stories about celebrities. For example, he acted as though he had first hand information that Caitlin Jenner confessed his desire to transition into a woman to Kris Jenner from day one and that it was a marriage of convenience as Kris just wanted to be famous. Really? Your the one person that has the hard facts? We also heard all about how he does this job for fun as he is really a videographer that travels the world and that he is also developing books about La Jolla’s rich and famous. We stopped briefly to see the tide pools from the cliff. We didn’t watch any surfers at all. When we went to the cave, he sent us down and dint come down himself. We waited for him, but after awhile just walked back up. We certainly didn’t have an experience there with a ‘naturalist’. Cameron had no interest in anything but hearing his own voice. It was sort of sad. He does know a lot about the area but is so taken with celebrity and wealth, it has become his focus. He’s probably capable of being a good tour guide but he needs to review the description listed on the advertisement and bring it back to fulfilling it. I would definitely recommend asking for a different guide if you plan on doing this bike ride. Or, I would advise the company to advertise it as what it was, a guy trying hard to impress everyone with his connections to La Jolla’s minor celebrities and their homes.

After living in San Diego for 3 years we finally rented some Kayak's and toured La Jolla Cove. You will get wet so dress accordingly and don't take any thing that cannot get wet. It is worth every minute of it. It's so nice to be on the open waters, seals are all around and the caves are such a beautiful sight to see. This is a must do if your in La Jolla!

My fiancé and I did this with our tour guide Yasseen (sorry if I didn't spell that correct) and he was awesome! We got to see two families of dolphins, learn about Dr. Seuss and his "Grinch", the reserve and preservations of wildlife, while exploring the cove and caves. I was an experience even my children could have done and would have loved as well. The guide was great and everyone had a great time! I would do this again in a heartbeat! The only thing I wish is I would have taken a longer tour!

This was a very nice and well-run organization. It definitely added to our experience of the San Diego coastline. We saw a dolphin and a lot of seabirds. Full marks!

I would recommend that parents coming with kids have some experience kayaking, ideally in the ocean. My wife and I had done some river kayaking (tandem with kids), but had not previously dealt with strong winds and waves, and struggled a bit to keep up. This meant we missed some explanations, and often felt we were slowing the group down.

Also, those of us with kids were not able to paddle inside the caves due to safety concerns. I totally agree with the instructor's judgment, but I guess I did not realize that parent/child tandems would be unable to participate fully.

We rented two bikes which were poorly maintained. One had a threadbare crank, the other a rusty chain. The pedal fell off one bike, and we were forced to walk 3 miles back to the shop. Upon arrival, we asked to be reimbursed, and instead were threatened with the cost of a new crank by an extremely rude owner. With so many other great rental shops in the area, this place does not merit your business.

Unfortunately the guide claimed that it was too rough to actually go into the caves or get close to the sea lions so basically it was an hour and a half kayaking............while that is fine it was an expensive way to do it. And this was the 1:00 guided tour! There should be a partial refund if you can’t get close to the caves. There were other tour groups who went a lot closer than we did.
If thinking of doing this I would recommend you choose the early time before the wind blows up.......and it wasn’t really windy anyway.
Also parking is a nightmare so give yourself plenty of time before the tour. They say to be here an hour before but don’t bother as they make you just sit around and wait. My advice.....grab a coffee and get there 15 minutes before your time. Also they charge you $6 for the use of a locker so leave your stuff in the car.
Sorry I can’t be more positive but this was my experience.
