This awesome production shook my world. I had always wondered what happened in Haiti after the major earthquake decimated the country several years ago. What had happened to the children whose families were killed? Were they adopted into American homes? Abandoned? Placed in orphanages? I never knew the subsequent tales of tragedy or stories of healing. Well, now my questions... More

I have been a longtime patron and usher at the various La Jolla Playhouse venues. Some of the best plays, musicals, and showcases originate here before debuting on Broadway. There really aren't any bad seats in any of the theaters because they were all built for audience viewing pleasure. They consistently have excellent performances. Ample Parking is a nominal fee... Without a doubt a fabulous experience for all. Shows at the La Jolla Playhouse are first rate. We have seen quite a number of shows and musicals that have gone onto Broadway such as Jersey Boys, Memphis, Billy Crystal, etc. Last evening we saw Hollywood with friends. Every seat is comfortable with easy viewing. Parking is easy right outside for... More

Great professional productions here. Usually more hits than misses and quite a few shows produced here go to Broadway.

The La Jolla Playhouse is a fun theater to attend set far from the craziness of downtown San Diego. It is hidden away on the campus of UCSD in La Jolla and has had done fabulous shows. Great theater and close to the village for dinner before or after.

This was a bloody brutal play. The humor was advertised as "Black" but it was scarce. The content was so brutal that I considered standing to leave during one scene. We had attended a pre-play dialogue and while props the would permit this brutality were discussed the Playhouse did not really address that the content would be so anguishing.

I have been a subscriber for many years. I love going there because it's so convenient and has lots of parking. You have to be prepared for some very unusual plays as they select "out of the box." It boasts of its big hit Jersey Boys.

The venue is exquisite, fantastic stagecraft and Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin was pure genius and after following his career this is his best performance. All the staff were very helpful and the service was great, parking was free and a golf cart ride from the lot was a nice touch. If you are planning on a visit to La... More

Incredible Irving Berlin is wonderfully inhabited by Hershey Felder. A stunning heartfelt presentation of the man and his music. Perfect holiday treat with White Christmas and a Christmas setting on stage. A must see during the short run. Includes moments of emotional tearful sing alongs of iconic songs of America.

The La Jolla Playhouse offers world premiers that often make it to Broadway--I have seen most of them. I am a season subscriber and often go to Talkback Tuesdays where you get to talk to and ask questions of the cast members after the show. They also offer comedy, drama, and musicals--such is the diversity. Plenty of parking--no payment required... More
