This was not something on our travel itinerary but we added it on the advice of a friend. It is absolutely stunning. The sea lions---you can walk right amongst them! I couldn't believe it. They definitely let you know if you are getting too close, but they otherwise don't mind you there at all. They are everywhere, along with pelicans... More

Difficult to park on the weekends but worth a few minutes to take pics of the sea lions. The cliff is hard to walk on and smells so bad but once you take a couple pics you get the idea and can move on the the next stop. We saw a guy making giant bubbles for the kids to pop... More

The tour lasts at least two hours, I think even more. The guides are really good and nice. It does not matter if someone is a good or bad swimmer, the guides take care of you. You can see lots of fish, sea lions, crabs and more and more. I loved it!

Such a beautiful coastline and late afternoon all the seals are surfing in to the rocks and then sunning themselves. Shame to see too many tourists getting too close, these are wild animals and shouldn't be disturbed like that, also they have big teeth.. Parking can be tricky so when you find one just take it.

La Jolla Cove is the most beautiful place to walk, people watch, and just hang out. Beautiful views of the water all along the shore. Nice restaurants all around and good shops too!

It was so much fun to take my grandson to La Jolla Cove for one of his summer camp days this month. The fish under the water make snorkeling so much fun...and you see so many kinds, from Garibaldi to the little tiny ones, in addition to the seal lions that birth their babies there now. And the view of... More

Watching the sea lions was fun! quite a large population of sea lions in one place. It was a little crowded with people but that is to be expected.

By far, the coolest thing in San Diego. If you can get past the smell, you can get up close...but not too close to seals. (A man almost got bit on the face, when the seal snapped at him). The seals were barking and just being themselves while people took pictures and swam near them. I loved every second of... More

There are sea lions everywhere! Such a sight to see, easy to get to and easy to get around! Parking changes out pretty regularly, so just be patient.
