UCSD is a sprawling, active campus. For the general public you can enjoy a lecture (if you can find a schedule), tour the Stuart Outdoor Art Collection (a self-guided tour brochure is available), or check out the Geisel Library. The major drawback is the continually construction and lack of parking; however, I regularly use the Pangea Parking Structure (fee of... More

UCSD is a well known academic establishment. Students are very well behaved and the campus in order.

We walked around a third of the campus and it took over an hour. Some of the buildings and architecture are amazing. The Geisel Library was fantastic, it looked like a spaceship in the dark! There were numerous art sculptures, and murals around campus too, as well as some interesting walkways. Unusually, all the sections of the University are very... More

Campus was very nice, modern and relaxed setting which probably reflected well on the university. The library was particularly pretty. The various sculptures on campus were very interesting - you can actually download a map of all of them. Well worth a visit.

Our daughter studied her many years ago so our visit to the campus was somewhat nostalgic. Well worth a visit if you are in the area to see the interesting architecture including the award winning library, featured as the spaceship in a sci-fi film. Don't miss the 'snake' pathway winding up the hill, or the quirky house balanced precariously on... More

Great to take a walking tour. There's a food court and cafes on the campus. The library and Jacob's School of Engineering are a must see.

The University has it's awards and value, but it's buildings are horrendously ugly... almost as ugly as the Padres stadium downtown, which is probably the ugliest building on the planet.

We drove through the campus when we missed our turn onto Torrey Pines Rd. If I had gone to college here, I'm not sure how much studying I would have done. It's located near the coast in La Jolla, but not waterfront. UCal Santa Barbara has it beat in that regard.
